I rate Dr. Scott 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. I have nothing negative to say.rnrnI agree with all the comments from other -- very sharp, kind, patient-oriented. He's worked very hard to build a team in his own practice (Harbin Clinic) and Floyd Hospital that knows what they're doing and what he wants. I'd guess that 25 to 35% of the staff he works with have had bariatric surgery themselves. He emphasizes both preparation and aftercare. I had almost no pain following my Roux-en-y and walked a half mile 3 days afterward. I then had a complication (ileus) which he took care of immediately.rnrnDr. Scott appears to truly love his work and what this surgery does for his patients. As he puts it, lots of doctors treat diabetes, sleep apnea, etc, but he's one of the few that gets to cure them.rnrnDr. Scott has been trained at some of the top schools in the U.S. and has written papers and textbook chapters on bariatric surgery. I had a doctor in another state who'd attended two of the same schools check out his reputation; the answer back was short and to the point: \"One of the best. You can't do better\" (in the Southeast). He's likewise very highly respected by all the other doctors in this townrnrnIf I were in Atlanta or Chattanooga, I'd consider driving to Rome for this surgery (although Emory Med School has a good reputation, too). I feel very lucky and grateful that he practices in our small town.rnrnAs a side note, he's a very busy man as the father of very young triplets.

Dr Scott is the best doctor ever !!!! I am a nurse where he works and I see his compassion everytime I see one of his pts. He did my lap band surgery and my gallblader too. He would be the only one that I would trust to take care of me AND my family and that, to me is the most important thing. He also has a great bed side manner. Ginger Is also GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!

My first impression of Dr. Scott is that he really truly cares about people being healthy and works hard in the bariatric field to help people. It's a very long process to get approved by him to have the surgery and it's obvious he does it that way for a reason. My impression has not changed about Dr. Scott although I would like to know why he has taken this on personally. He is a young, athletic, nice looking guy, the kind that you would think would be grossed out by fat people. But he's so not that way and NEVER even begins to make you feel bad about yourself. His office staff is very nice and his PA has a great sense of humor and is willing to take the time to answer any questions you might have. Dr. Scott puts great emphasis on after care and his staff go over and over the most important things. They have a monthly support group. I think the Dr. Scott addresses the risks of surgery very well. He is very diligent about the way things are done and it has brought a lot of success to his surgeries and the process. I think that Dr. Scotts surgical competence and bedside manner are both exemplary. I have friends who have had this surgery with other doctors and do not have even close to the same experience that I have had. I give him a 10.

I absolutely Loved Dr. Scott. He was very helpful through everything with my surgery and made sure to come by and check on me as soon as he heard that I was having trouble. He kept my family very informed during my surgery and took excellent care of me. I wouldn't have chosen anyone else!

I love Dr. Scott. I work with him in a professional setting (I am an ICU RN) and I see his compassion and the way he takes care of his patients that we see in ICU. ...to my knowledge none have been bariatric surgery patients. He also treats all people with respect and dignity...nurse, patient, tech, housekeeper, no matter who they are.rnrnHe also had a very informative seminar that he frankly discussed the risks and lifestyle changes to be made afterward.rnHe also has a certain set of programs that a patient must have before you get a consultation with him, which I am *hopefully* almist finished with. At his office they are very familiar with my insurance so I am going tosee him after all of the stuff for my insurance criteria is done.

My first impression on Dr. Scott was Wow! We are SO lucky to have this man here in a relatively small area like Rome, Ga. He is so knowledgeable and up to date and very VERY thorough. He leaves nothing to chance. I only gained more respect for him over time. I attended my first seminar on 10/11/06 and begin the process immediately to go thru with WLS. I began seeing Mary Beth in November. She is absolutely a hoot and SO much help. You can either listen or not. It's up to you. I chose to listen to her and follow her plan. By March I had lost almost 30 lbs on my own. I had my psych exam in January and saw Dr Scott in January as well. He set my surgery date up for March 5th. I was SOOOO excited. Today is March 14. I have lost a total of 42 lbs since I began this journey. With the help of Ginger, Annette, Mary Beth, AND Dr Scott, I am on my way to achieving a healthy lifestyle. They all work together as as a team. They all are informative and keep imphasizing the importance of following the program, minimizing the risks, and stress the importance of being informed and asking questions and getting answers. Dr. Scott is truly an awesome person and a blessing. His is totally competent, beyond words, and his bedside manner is indescribable. And his staff is excellent. The aftercare, thus far, has been excellent. I have only good things to say. I have even encouraged my daughter to consider this surgery to get her own life back on track by getting her weight under control. I would absolutely recommend Dr Scott to anyone.

My first impression of Dr.Scott was very positive because he was easy to talk to and patiently answered all my questions. It really impressed me when I asked him who to call after surgery if I had a problem after office hours. He told me that I could always call him.The staff (Ginger especially) is great. Ginger is always easy to get in touch with by phone or email. I always tell every one how great Dr.Scott is. He keeps a close watch over us and wants us to suceed. His aftercare cannot be beat. I have not had any negative issues. I know that any time I need to talk to them they are willing to give me advice. I cannot say enough about the excellent care provided by Dr. Scott!
