Dr. Smith was extremely professional and helpful. He was punctual and always willing to assist.He provided all of the essential information regarding risks and difficulty. I was only able to meet with him for my three month check up because I moved out of state. I regret that as he would have been a wonderful support. His office staff was the best. My only regret is that my weight loss was extremely slow and stopped premeturely through no fault of the surgeon.
My FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR.H L SMITH WAS THAT HE WAS VERY CONFIDENT, OVERALL HE WAS CUT AND DRY. THE STAFF WAS WARM AND SENSITIVE TO YOUR NEEDS SO IT MADE UP FOR HIS LACK OF COMPASSION.
Dr. Smith was very nice and he was very straight forward. I also, thought that his staff was very friendly.I am having the surgery tomorrow, so I will comment more later. 12-4-01. I am 4 days post-op and my surgery went well, I have only had brief encounters with the Dr., but overall, I would say that he is a good Dr. 12-9-01.
My first impression of Dr. Smith was that he was a very nice person. He introduced himself and shook my hand. This made me feel very comfortable. His office staff was wonderful. They returned my calls and spent as much time on the phone as I needed with them. When they were booked for appointments, they even squeezed me in. As far as aftercare for surgery goes, I have not had my surgery yet, but he did ask me if I had read all of the complications and risks of this surgery and also if I had any questions for him. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would definately rate this Dr.'s office a 10.
I WAS REFERRED TO DR. SMITH FOR A SURGERY CONSULT BY MY PCP. I MEET WITH HIM ON 8/20/01. HIS WAS VERY NICE AND INFORMATIVE. HE SAID THAT I AM A PRIME CANDIDATE FOR SURGERY. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD MAIL A LETTER TO MY INS. CO. THAT DAY.
9/14 - STILL WAITING APPROVAL
6/27/01 I have an appointment to meet Dr. Smith on 7-18-01.
I pray that things go okay. 7/27/01 I went and seen Dr. Smith
and his is a nice Surgeon. He said that he would write the letter
that day. I am still waiting for my approval.
He also said that it could take 2 to 3 weeks.
DR. SMITH WAS TO THE POINT AND VERY SERIOUS. BUT SINCE THEN HE HAS SHOWN MORE OF A HUMAN SIDE AS HE HAS LAUGHED AT A FEW THINGS THAT I'VE SAID TO HIM. THAT MAKE'S ME FEEL MORE AT EASE. HIS STAFF IS WONDERFUL, MARY IS GREAT. MOST OF THE AFTERCARE IS PROVIDED BY THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND HEAD NURSE AT WHITTIER HOSPITAL. I WOULD RATE THEM A 11.
5-4-00 Received consultation approval. Appt. date is May 15th.
5-18-00 I met with Dr. Smith on Monday, 5-15-00. I was very pleased with him and his staff. Dr. Smith took a lot of time with me and answered any questions that I had. The women at the WLS Center were also very nice. I was very impressed with all of the services that I will receive in the hospital and once I am home recovering.
I first saw Dr. Smith in May of 99. I feel that he was very thorough in explaining the surgery itself and also it's complications. He took his time in answering any question I had and he made me feel very comfortable. His office manager, Mary is wonderful! I'm 3 months post-op as of 03-01-00 and I cannot tell you what a terrific doctor he is. I've had some minor problems and he's always been there for me. You will find no better doctor - one that's compassionate to those in need of this surgery. I absolutely adore him!
