My first impression of Dr Washington was that he was kind hearted and very informative. I had my RNY surgery on 2/10/10 and have had a couple of issues on the weekend and he has called me back immediately and shown the utmost attention and concern for my issues. My opinion of him is very high. He is not only very thorough prior to surgery but is very involved after also and I believe aftercare is the most important part! Also from my experience, his staff is wonderful! I have always been treated with such kindness whenever I have needed to call for different issues! If your looking for a doctor with not only surgical excellence but also a calming, kind bedside manner....Dr Washington is your guy! I will always be grateful that I found a doctor who is so dedicated to helping people!

Well, at first I was about to have Dr. Pupkova but my insurance had change due to the fact that my job was having troubles with the insurance people. Later on down the road I found out that I have to have an in service for my surgery to be covered. My mom had found a hospital that will take my insurance and came across Centra State Hospital in Freehold. I would have this done sometime in June or so but oh well, I got my surgery date, although I waited eleven months to finally get one. Worth it? Yes-sirre-bob! Finally got to meet my surgeon and made me understand what is and so on. I felt very comfortable knowing that he will take care of me and help me learn on the new-me-to-come. I am so looking forward on my new healthier me.

My impression was that he was cold heart! my impression did not change!!! Office staff was very nice. I only talked really to the manager kathy and she was very very helpful. Which i cannot say about Dr. Washington. I did not like him making me wait for two hours to see him. I met him six months ago and should have know that he was not going to be good. i also was there where he seems to ignore the fact that he had people waiting in the waiting room while i over heard him bs in the hall way to someone while i waited for him. he must feel that his time is worth more then everyone else. i will not be going back to see him

I saw Dr. Washington twice this week. On Tuesday he did my endoscopy. My initial impression then was that he had a kind face. I was immediately put at ease. After the procedure he came to tell me and my husband that everything was fine. We did not have to wait until Friday to find out the results. On Friday we had our pre-op appointment. Dr. Washington took a quick look at my abdomen, explained the different weight loss surgeries available, and patiently answered all my questions. I am so glad that Dr. Washington is going to do my surgery! I feel really confident that he is the best one to do the job.rnrnToday I am six days post-op and I feel great. I can honestly say that I never had any pain from the surgery. The only discomfort I had was from trying to swallow liquids. Dr. Washington did a fantastic job! The only thing I was not prepared for was the weight gain following surgery. I freaked out when I saw a 14 pound weight gain. But the weight has been coming off steadily and I'm just about where I was when I went into the hospital.rnrnI wish to thank Dr. Washington for changing my life.
Update: Today I am 2 years post-op and a total of 164 pounds lighter. I am healthier than ever, more active, and have a much better attitude about life. Having the gastric bypass was the greatest gift I could have given to myself. Dr. Washington gave me my life back!

I just met my surgeon, Dr. Washington, for the first time when I had my endoscopy on 4/29/09. It was a brief meeting right before the procedure. He seemed very nice. Then I met him again with my husband when we had an appt. with him to go over the types of surgeries there are. He was very nice and took the time to go over everything. I would definatly recommend him to anyone considering WLS.

Well i met my surgeon 2 times so far. And he is the nicest guy. We met the day of the endoscopy and then when my family had to go to the consultation. He took the time to explain everything and told me because of having 9 previous pelvis surgeries i was not a good canditate for the RNY. So i am having the vertical gastric sleeve. He took the time to answer the 2 pages o questions i had and then also answered all the questions my daughter has because she ands i are having surgery the same day. I would recommend him to everyone. And the anesthesiologist that i recommend from Bayshore is Dr Holland. He is sweet and very caring. I called to make sure that he is the one going to take care of both of us on the 12th. Trust me i do not rave about any doctors usually. Since i have had a multitude of medical problems all my adult life i am very leary of doctors. Most of them think that when they got the MD degree it was really the GOD degree. And let me tell you i feel alot of doctors from ocean county were the ones that were last in there class so they decided to practice here. nd i mean PRACTICE. try this and if they die then try that on someone else. In ocean county it is a majority of people over the age of 75. and when they go to the doctor they trust what ever it is they say. With out question. but when i go to the doctor i do alot of questioning and most doctors feel that it is demeaning to them that they have to answer questions when they have the degree and i do not. well i am not a sheep being led to slaughter. The one doctor that i had was a great clincian and he understood MY body and that it is not like anyother person. But Dr. John Smith moved to some where in north jersey and i havent found him yet. But i will and even if i have to drive 2 hours to see him i will do it. but for now. But Dr. Washington is a great doctor and i feel very safe in his hands. As for the staff in his office they have been very good to me. The front office girls are really helpful. So Thanks GUYS if you get a chance to read this. I know i am a pain in the butts.... But i love you lol

I first met Dr. Washington at a local bariatric seminar that his practice hosted at CentraState Medical Center in December 2007. The information was comprehensive, yet Dr. Washington presented it in a clear and concise manner. He added a touch of appropriate levity and related extremely well with the audience of prospective patients.rnrnAs time elapsed, I got to know Dr. Washington, the man behind the surgical mask. He is well spoken with a charismatic smile that makes me as a patient feel comfortable to be open and honest with him about my lifelong battle with weight. While his gentle manner is calming, this is by no means any indication that Dr. Washington is easily swayed or misled by patients’ tales of woe often used as an excuse for faltering from his prescribed plan. I learned that he will stand up for his patients if they encounter roadblocks with other physicians who may impede the process of securing surgical clearance and will accommodate schedule changes for unforeseen circumstances.rnrnDr. Washington employs a professional and courteous office staff. They accommodate patient scheduling needs, promptly return telephone calls and expeditiously handle billing and insurance issues.rnrnAs a prospective patient to one of the several bariatric surgical procedures available and performed by Dr. Washington and his associates at Endo-Surgical Associates, it is important to be able to ask questions and understand the answers provided. It is equally important to know that your surgeon is supported by a team of surgeons formally trained in bariatric surgery who are able to render care as required 24/7. Dr. Washington and his team fulfill these requirements. His team is also complemented by two physician assistants who have specialized training in bariatric surgery and serve as bariatric coordinators for the practice.rnrnAftercare is highly stressed as an important factor in the success of any bariatric by Dr. Washington. He stresses this at his information seminars and during the pre-operative visits. He expresses his desire to maintain long-term relationships with his patients and to partner with them on their journey to success and renewed health. This is achieved through a structured aftercare program that includes monthly follow-up visits, nutritional support groups and encouragement to schedule time with the surgical staff to discuss any specific issues that may arise.rnrnDr. Washington explains the surgical options available to his patients and the associated benefits and risks with each surgical procedure. He discusses the national averages of successes and adverse results and compares them to the results generated by him and his practice. It was at this time in our discussion that I fully realized the caring nature that this man and his practice have for the safety and well being of their patients. He discusses pre and post surgical precautions taken for every patient and his ability to maintain negative outcomes well below national averages.rnrnI would rate Dr. Washington as an expert in the field of bariatric surgery and I have absolutely no reservations about recommending him or his colleagues at Endo-Surgical Associates to my family members for general or bariatric surgery. The surgical competence and bedside manner shown to me and my family have both been outstanding.

I started my journey to better health on 2/29/08. Jessica Wolsky,PA, was wonderful. she was clear and up front about what was needed for authorization, expectations, results and my responsibilities in my health and weight loss.Eveyone in the office was helpful-even on their most harried days! I had the lap gastric bypass on 6/26/ 08 at Bayshore.I was one of the 3 first bariatric surgeries on the 26th at Bayshore! Not only has Dr Washington been wonderful, everyone I have been in contact with has been. I had to go to the ER 4 days after surgery and Dr. Sedak was great. The staff at CentraState and Bayshore were amazing. I am a RN- I know great care! The pre-op nutrition & RN classes were invaluable. And the support group meetings are priceless! This has been a wonderful journey...it is my new beginning..my new birth date!!!! 46 down and 81 to go.....
