Dyer MD Weight Loss Surgery Bariatric Center
He was very friendly and knew his stuff.. His staff was friendly also, and very helpful.. I would definetly recommend using him if you are thinking of having any obesity surgery around Nashville.. The day of surgery I was very nervous because this was the first surgery I had ever had.. He came to check on me before surgery and told me everything would go great.. He visited me again after surgery to tell me how everything went. The next day before i went home he came back in to see how I was feeling.. He told me if i had any problems or need anything just to contact his office and he told me he wanted to see me back the following week... He strongly suggested that I attend aftercare programs he said that they help out alot.. He also told me the risks of the surgery... Overall he was wonderful and im really glad I chose him to preform my surgery..
My first impression of Dr. Dyer was very possitive. He seemed very nice and was very patient with my family and my long list of questions ( I pulled out my sprial notebook full). He is very knowledgeable on the surgery itself. Don't ask diatary questions those are strictly for the diatician. My appointment was at the end of the day so there weren't really any staff there but the few that were left were very polite and friendly. There is a MAJOR emphesis on AFTER CARE in every way. The after care program seems to very structured and very strict as well. He was very straight forward about the risks and did not sugar coat ANYTHING which I liked very well and found respectful. I will update this after surgery for the rest of the questions addressed.rnrnrnWell I am 1 week post-op today(July 15,2008). Dr. Dyer has an excelent bedside manner and really sits down to talk over everything with you. He wants to make sure you are not in pain or discomfort at any time which was great. Surgical competence was excelent as well and I had a FABULOUS EXPERIENCE with Centennial and DR. Dyer. I would ABSOLUTLY RECOMEND him to others as well as to Centennial. Thank You for helping me change my life! (surgery date was July 8, 2008)
I met Dr. Dyer when I sat in on the consult he was doing with my cousin and also was there for her surgery. He was so darned good at explaining everything and took his time on her surgery because of her weight. He only scheduled her for that day because he said he wanted to focus only on her surgery.
I cannot say how pleased I am with Centennial and Dr David Dyer. I had the gastric sleeve on June 11th. I began liquids 8 days prior, and as of today (June 20th), I have lost 30 lbs! I started at 276 and now weigh 246. I have had to pass along thousands of dollars of suits and clothes that cost so much to acquire, but were let go of easily and gladly. I attended church today and had to go buy clothes yesterday to wear.rnrnThe support from the office and preparation by Dr Dyer is second to none. I have healed swiftly and have had no complications other than being tired in the afternoons, because of course I had major surgery 11 days ago. My strength is better every day.rnrnI stayed from Wed-Sat in the hospital, and went back to work on Monday--although I worked at my desk and went home at 2:30.rnrnI was on 7 medications for diabetes and hypertension and still both were poorly controlled. I have gotten off 5 of them so far and truly could be off the other 2 in 2 weeks at this rate--my levels are almost perfect.rnrnI cannot say how glad I am that I did this. And I also cannot say how glad I am that I found and worked with Dr Dyer and his staff. (Joanna is great, too!)rnrnDo it!
I had my lap-band surgery on June 5, 2008 and Dr. Dyer was my surgeon. He is a wonderful Doctor and has a great bed side manner. He doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable as you are recovering and wants you to know he is there for any assistance that you need. He has a wonderful office staff as they make you feel you are the only patient at the time they are attending to you. I couldn't say enough about the service they give you. I would recommend Dr. Dyer to anyone who is thinking about have obesity surgery. He stresses aftercare because you need to be involved with other people that have or is going through what you are at this point in your life. He was very straightforward with tell you the ins and outs of the surgery. I would rate him at the top of the list for Obesity Surgeons. If I had to do it again I would choose Dr. Dyer again. He was referred to me by my neice who is a RN at Centennial and had worked with him. She thought he was wonderful with his patients.
I had my weight loss surgery on November 28, 2007. It is proving to be one of the best things that I have ever done for myself. The process of finally deciding to have the surgery done, \"jumping through the necessary hoops for insurance purposes\", actually going through the surgery and recovering has been a lengthy journey. I am so grateful for the staff and especially Dr. Dyer for all their help and guidance in this matter. I am convinced that Dr. Dyer is an excellent surgeon with great expertise and knowledge. It was planned from the beginning that my surgery would be done laparoscopically, however old scar tissues from a previous surgery complicated matters. Dr. Dyer's knowledge and training enabled him to complete the surgery as planned as he worked with me for seven hours. I am very appreciative for his patience and \"know how\" as my recovery has been much faster than it would have been if the surgery had been done by a less experienced surgeon. The staff at the Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity is excellent in providing informational seminars to introduce you to the surgical program as well as helping with aftercare. They care and encourage you every step of the way. Since that November 28th date, I have lost 128 pounds and gone from 4 blood pressure pills a day to a daily dosage of a half of a pill. I am truly pleased for what this surgery has done to improve my future health. Words can not express my thanks. Robert M. White Lewisport, KY
When I first met Dr. Dyer, I was impressed by his straight forward attitude. He explained the procedure I had chosen and about possible problems or complications. Since I researched my options before meeting with him, I felt very much at ease with him and his abilities. He has a structured pre-op care that helps make the surgery easier for both the patient and the doctor.rnrnI arrived at the hospital very confident that this was going to be a great experience. My surgery went very well with no complications and with the hospital staff's care, I was up and walking in no time!rnrnWhen I was released from the hospital, I knew I had made the right choice for the doctor and hospital.rnrn
Highly recommended!!
I attended my seminar in Sept. 07. Hugh Houston was the Dr. speaking, but I had already made up my mind about wanting Dr. Dyer. His background and experience made him the right choice for me.rnI met Dr. Dyer on my consultation in Nov. 07 and was very pleased. He was very informative and allowed myself and my husband to ask any and all questions we had.rnMy surgery was Jan. 24, 2008 and was relatively uncomplicated. I had the expected gas pains from the surgery and Dr. Dyer was very compassinate and helpful to me. The nurses were wonderful and so nice to me and my family.rnDr. Dyer has always told it to me straight. On my first visit one week post op I was down 14lbs from the day of surgery. Dr. Dyer stressed the importance of keeping my calories low, eating protein first, and getting in some form of exercise. The office staff is always nice and seems very organized.rnDr. Dyer is not a match for me personality wise. I am a loud and joking person, he is more straight laced, I would say. But 100% professional and a very nice man. I feel comfortable when I am around him, but I am also a little nervous about letting him down with my weight loss. He makes me want to do my very best.
The first time I seen Dr. Dyer I was very impressed, he explained the surgery and the risks. I went to have my surgery in Aug. of 07 and I had a bleeder to my spleen and he got it stopped and decided to close. So, I was really afraid of having it done again but the more I talked to him I decided to try again. Feb. 08, I had my surgery done. As of today May 16, 08 I have lost aroung 87 lbs and I'm feeling great, just getting sick of chicken and tuna. I also think his staff is great and the hospital staff was #1. The night of my surgery, we had tornado warning and they really made me feel safe. Dr. Dyer has one of the best bedside manners and I rate his overall #10.
