Dr. Michael P. Choi, D.O. Bariatric Center

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Choi. The entire process was incredible, and I am truly grateful for the care I received and the results achieved.

I had the Lapband surgery a year ago 2/2/10, Now that it's a year, I have lost 78 lbs. Dr Choi is a wonderful Doctor. He is very professional and he did a wonderful job. I was not ill, I was out walking the next day. I recommended him to my neighbor and she is now loosing weight. The staff at the surgery area are very kind and caring. Jaime who is the nurse there is very kind and sweet. I have recommended lap band to whomever asked me about it.

DR. CHOI IS CURRENTLY WORKING IN FLORIDA.... I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH MY FIRST VISIT AND EQUALLY IMPRESSED THE SECOND TIME I MET HIM. THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY NICE, OFFICE IS CLEAN AND APPOINTMANTS ARE HANDLED QUICKLY. HE ADDRESSES THE RISKS OF SURGERY VERY CLEARLY.... I CAME TO THE OFFICE VERY PREPARED (I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AND WAITING FOR 3 YRS FOR SURGERY).... SINCE I AM SELF - PAY I WENT TO 3 DOCTORS. DR CHOI ALSO HAD THE BEST PRICE!

OVERALL I AM HAPPY SO FAR... I WILL KEEP EVERYTHING UP DATED AND REPORT ALL NEGATIVE RESULTS .....

I had an appointment with Dr. Choi for last week but when I arrived I was told he had an emergency so I had a consult with Dr. Artuso instead. I had already read great things about Dr. Artuso and have communicated with at least one other of his patients who had the surgery a couple of years ago. Since Dr. Artuso does not participate in my insurance the surgery will be done by Dr. Choi with Dr. Artuso assisting.

Dr. Artuso was very nice. He spend a lot of time going over things with me. I told him I had done a lot of research and I think it showed.

The New Image Weight Loss Center (comprised of Dr. Artuso and Dr. Choi) seems to be a very good choice. They've been in business for years and they have a very structured program. Even while waiting in the waiting room they run a video about the surgery to reinforce the requirements and commitment needed by patients who undergo it.

3/30/2006 - I am 23 days post op now and lost 18.2 lbs in the first 3 weeks. I just wanted to provide an update on Dr. Choi. He has been such a sweetheart. Really he and Dr. Artuso were both wonderful for the surgery. And I loved Dobbs Ferry hospital. After surgery I had a raw sore throat and on a Sunday was really in a lot of pain. I called Dr. Choi's office and they had him call me. I really appreciated that he was very concerned and told me I should call whenever I needed to. I've now seen him for 2 post op visits and again he has been wonderful and routinely tells me not to hesitate to call if I have any problems or questions. Needless to say I am very happy with my choice of surgeons.

They have monthly support groups that anyone can go to. I went to one in November and it was great.

I'll write more once I have more experience with these doctors and office staff.
