Danbury Hospital - Center for Weight Loss Surgery Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Neil Floch was very good actually because every question that he was asked, he made eye contact and answer promptly and with a lot of knowledge.
Then things gotten much better as i got to talk to him in private on my first consultation and impressed how humble he is and how much he really cares. He went through a lot of details with me, being very polite, honest and caring.
I could not say that there were a least thing I liked about Dr. Neil Floch, i would do all over again with him. He is the ultimate professional being honest, caring and knowing his stuff. Very competent.
My after care was so great!! I was a little down and he even called my house a few days to see how i was doing and kind of pumping me up, telling me that was momentarily. Also his right hand and a great human being Danielle called me also and was promptly to help at any time..
Dr. Floch has groups where is very well organized and that a lot of things are talked about after the surgery. As concerns, worries, questions.
I would rate him the higest possible A+, 100%, Excellent, the best. And i did see another doctor that did not care half as Dr. Neil Floch did.
He is extremly competent as a doctor and a great caring human being. He truly cares about how his patients feels and that shows. When he takes the time to call, answer as many questions (even when i asked the same ones over and over).
My first impression was WOW how young and good looking!!!.I felt very comfortable very fast. His office staff are very nice and understanding so is he.I will recomend him to any body that wants this surgery done.He explained everything to me, the pros and cons of each surgery, even drew them for me to make the explaining easier. They are GREAT!!!!!
My name is Susan B., and my first office visit with Dr. Neil Floch was on Friday December 6th 2002. I found him to be, informative and funny (humerous). His office staff was as helpful as humanly possible when I asked them a question on a subsequent visit (to bring my xeroxed Health Insurance card that I accidently left at home). They didn't have the solid answer about the meeting, but they tried to find out for me.
Dr Floch addressed the risks of surgery, and he was the one who gave me this website after "surfing the net" had come up in our consultation. The thing I liked least about him is that he has only done 4 Laproscopic Surgeries so far, but he has over 4 years of Open Surgery experience. Dr. Floch also told me about Pre-Op meetings at Norwalk Hospital (CT.) that meet from 6-8 pm on the first Wednesday of each month-except for January 8th 2003. Sincerely, Susan B. 12/18/02.
May 11th 2003 I had my wls with Floch Surgical and Associates on 2/25/03, and I have found Dr. Erlich, Dr. Neil Floch ane the office staff, especially Jen, to be professional, honest, caring and "all around wonderful" during this whole process. They respond in a timely manner to all my questions, and with both doctors I
can really tell that they truely care and aren't in the "Dr. Business" just to make good money! I am so glad that I found Dr. Floch and Dr. Erlich early on in my wls journey! They are wonderful doctors and I wish I had a better vocabulary so that I could fully express all my thoughts and feelings about their wonderful, dedicated and caring professionalism! I would definately recommend them to anyone in the New York City/Conn. area. Sincerely, Susan Bresnehan. Wed. 1/19/2004 I had my surgery with Dr Neil Floch (There are 3 Dr. Flochs in Norwalk!) at the end of February 2003. I had a complication while in my first 48 hours and he was VERY EXPEDIENT to redo my wls, open. I don't mind the extra scar, I think I even like it as some sort of "battle wound" with my weight loss process! I was in the Noralk Hospital in Conn. for NINE DAYS! By day 6 or 7 I was willing to do ANYTHING TO get out and GO HOME! Dr. Neil Floch has a wonderful bedside manner. He is also very dedicated, as shown by his checking me on Sunday AM when he had the day off. There he was dresed in a Dark Bkue SUIT, and there TO CHECK UP ON ME ONLY!! I found that very impressive. His office is a lot busier than when I had my surgery, but that doesn't keep him from showing his deep concern for his patientw when he sees a problem and they (I was) are blind to it! He has also purchased new chairs in the past couple month that are realy wide, and within weeks of my becomming his paient he ordered and received a digital scale. His old Bi-beam Balance Scale did not go up to 308 lbs., which is what I weighed in at then. I am VERY HAPPY WITH Dr. Neil Floch and his staff. They are very kind curteous, caring, write when I miss appointments, let me come in for an unscheduled weigh in(but can not write thoes in their file) so I can keeep up more often on the ups and downs of my weight than if I waited for my next appointment. If I had the WLS to do over again, I would do it with him-Dr. NEIL Floch. I wish him all the best in his continuing practice and I hope he reads this one day soon. Everyone in her office were extremely helpful.
There wasn't anything I disliked about my surgeon. There was an aftercare program but I live 3 hours away and it wasn't convenient, especially in the winter.
She was very upfront and honest with me about the risked I faced.
I was referred to Fairfield County Bariatrics (FCB) by my nutritionist, Nancy Murphy. One quick note about Nancy...She is well seasoned and informed about both pre and post operative bariatric nutrition. I recommend her to anyone interested in finding a good and caring nutritionist. NOW FOR FCB: Pre-op, I went to many of the informational seminars. I wanted to really know if this group was for me. I wanted to know that not only would I have a good surgeon, but one who would be there as I journeyed down the path to regain my health. Long story short? I FOUND JUST THAT! The seminars gave me the opportunity to see all 3 surgeons talk about Gastric Bypass as well as the Lap Band. I was very impressed by each speaker: Dr. Neil Floch, Dr. Craig Floch and Dr. Tim Ehrlich. They are a caring team of surgeons who have only their patients best interest and health in the forefront of their minds. It is my opinion that Fairfield County Bariatrics has THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE BARIATRIC PROGRAM in the STATE of CT! The education they offer starts from the very first seminar we are required to attend, prior to our consultation. At those seminars, they inform us about each surgical procedure and touch on the post operative experience as well, letting us know that WE are an integral part of our recovery. HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS about FCB's program...They require each patient to see a nutritionist pre-operatively and encourage us to continue that education post-operatively. They also offer regular support group meetings each month. Those support group meetings are facilitated by a psychologist who specializes in eating disorders and bariatric "recovery". Their office staff: I have to begin with their PA, Danielle who is a consummate professional with a caring heart. She is always there to answer any questions we might have. As a matter of fact, the entire office staff is always willing to help...being only a phone call away. So, for me, the decision to choose FCB as my surgical team, was a no-brainer. Top notch in my book.
I have know Dr Floch for years. He is a compasionate and kind person! He is open and honest and wants his patients to know everything about the surgery he performs. He goes into great detail on the risks and benifits, and will spend as much time with you as you need! Dr Floch is completely thorough in his testing, and there are MANY! He will help you every step of your journey to a happier, healthier life.
All of the staff at Floch surgical reflects his care. ~WLS site says no person can be the "best" at all aspects.... they are wrong... Dr Floch is!
I was a little nervous when I went for my consultation with Dr. Neil Floch. I was suprised that he looked so young, but he quickly put me at ease. His staff was superior. I did think I should have more aftercare instructions. The hospital staff seemed confused with my care and this worried me.
Dr. Neil Floch is great. He answered all my questions and some I hadn't even thought of. He is caring and has a great personality and outlook. He is very supportive.
