I was very impressed with Dr. Klem from my first meeting with him. He spent a great deal of time discussing the program he had developed at Central DuPage Hospital, as well as the procedure and the process required prior to surgery. He was open to my questions and honestly discussed the options. Overtime he proved to be an excellant surgeon, with a great bedside manner. He is very supportive and his post-op care is very thorough. His team of doctors, nurses, psychologist, and dietian are caring and supportive. His office staff, especially Cortney are very helpful. Future patients should not hesitate to talk with him and discuss any questions and concerns. He emphasizes a life-long aftercare program, including a support group. Post-op aftercare is initially weekly, then monthly and eventually annually, in addition to a monthly support group run by a member of his team. I met with Dr. Klem a second time, prior to my surgery, to discuss my test results and review all the risks of surgery. I would rate him a 10 (on a 1-10 scale), both his surgical competence and bedside manner are great. Finally, the staff at CDH and the whole program are wonderful.
