Very caring and supportive surgeon. Takes time to explain everything in detail and answer questions. Dr Clarks' practice has a comprehensive and structured before and aftercare program. Although I was not thrilled with getting all the testing done before surgery, I can now see the validity of it. I would and have recommended Dr. Clark and his program to others! I am very happy with the program and the way things are going.
Prior to meeting Dr. Clark, I had heard alot of really positive things about him and his staff. I was drawn to not only his ability to perform, but the fact that he had an aftercare program that consisted of more than periodic visits.
However, after meeting him I felt that the positive comments did not do him, or the program, justice.
He not only took the time to explain the surgery with me, but allowed me full opportunity to ask any questions I had. He did a very good job at validating any concerns I had, and calming my nerves. Explaining that my concerns were normal. His bedside manner was outstanding as well.
I have found his staff to be outstanding and above anything I could have expected. They are not only knowledgeable, but project a very positive attitude in how they deal with their clients. Each one acting as a cheerleader.
I went through several programs to find the one I was the most comfortable with. I knew after my 1st appointment that Dr. Clark was it! I cannot say enough for him or his staff. I didn't feel judged or put out of place because of my weight. The atmosphere is very embraceing, encouraging and motivating to succeed. Dr. Clark has the best bedside manner I have ever experienced!! He is a very compassionate person and you can tell that he doesn't settle for less than the best he can give you.He thouroughly expresses and explains all risks before surgery so that you are completely aware of everything.
He continuously encourages and stresses the importance of taking care of yourself for life and his office provides all the tools to help. They have a dietician and Psychiatrist available as well to help.
Dr. Clark has helped and continues to help me with the best change of my life!!
I would recommend him to anyone!!
I had my surgery in August of 2004, so I am now a little over 1 year post op. Dr. Clark and his Staff were wonderful, informative and supportive. I never felt the dr. was "rushed" at any of my appointments, he always took the time to talk to me before and after my surgery. Dr. Clark and staff made my life changing decision a positive experience in all ways. I was fortunate to have no complications and have to admit that in my opinion everything was a sucess. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone. If I had it all to do over again, I would gladly go back to him.
When I first met Dr. C and his staff I was so impressed. I was so used to other doctors being standoffish and their staff being non approachable. Dr. C and his staff makes you feel like family and that you are truly cared for. He is a very caring man. He is always there if I need him. He was like that while I was in the hospital. I couldn't have chosen a better surgeron.
Dr. Clark is truly an ANGEL! He is so compassionate and genuinely cares about his patients. His staff is FIRST CLASS and always make you feel like part of their family.
Dr. Clark and his staff are the most wonderful people in the world. They truly care about their patients and celebrate with them at every step in the journey. I have recommended them to anyone who asks and will continue to recommend them because of the after care. Dr. Clark is the BEST in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Dr. Clark and his whole staff is absolutely wonderful. He takes time with you and you never feel rushed. My husband was impressed with Dr. Clark and how he explains everything in detail to you. His office staff is so supportive when you call the office. They are very thorough in their questions and emphasize to call and ask any questions, no matter how small or silly you think they are. About a week after surgery I called in with some pain that I was having and the nurse took time with and asked several questions and made me feel very calm. She explained exactly what was happening and why I was having the pain. I was afraid that my drain site was getting infected because suddenly I was having horrible pain from there, but it turns out that the gastric juices were backing up out of the site and irritating the skin. When she described to me what the site looked like that was exactly what was happening to me. She explained what to do to alleviate this pain and it worked. But she also let know that if the next day things were not better then they would get me in to see Dr. Clark. That made me feel good. They weren't just brushing me off. I felt 100% better when I hung up the phone. Dr. Clark and his staff have a wonderful support network and it was explained in great detail exactly what to expect before, during and after surgery plus all the risks involved. I think it is important to of course have surgical competence but bedside manner just as important. I would recommend this office to anyone looking to have this procedure done. I am very pleased.
I met with Dr. Clark and his staff today for a free seminar about the surgery. I had already decided before I even went to the seminar that I was going to have this surgery. And after listening to Dr. Clark and his staff members I was asured that I had made the right decision. I trust him and his staff with my life, and I am very eager and ready to start this new mission in my life. I would give Dr. Clark and his staff a rate of 10++ because they are so caring and concern....thanks
