Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Wood County Hospital Bariatric Center
Dr. Peter Lalor is a very skilled professional and a patient focused healer. (I've worked in the senior levels of health care administration for my entire adult career and can say that I generally hold physicians and their condescending manner in relative low regard. I appreciate their skills and dedication, it's the attitude of many that offends me. None of this was/is the case with Dr. Lalor.) rn rnMy sister, a RN for many years thinks that his younger age and more recent training have encouraged a more patient focused, easy going attitude. I believe it's just the personality of the man. Either way, now on this side of the health care system, it was refreshing to have a physician speak plainly, speak honestly, keep his commitments and nurture the patient back to optimum health. I must report that a few of the hospital staff nurses mentioned that Dr. Lalor can be difficult to work with at times. Probably true of most surgeons.rnrnThe office staff is simply wonderful. His nurse Deb and the Dietitians have all been extremely supportive. (In a perfect world, the staff would benefit from an in-house psychology professional)rnrnThe facilities at The Wood County Hospital were more than satisfactory. The \"small town\" hospital feel, with friendly, attentive nurses, was very refreshing.rnrnBottom line, if you live in Northwest Ohio or Southern Michigan - Dr. Lalor is your guy!
Dr Lalor and his staff at the Center for Weight Loss in Bowling Green, ohio are great. They are all Friendly and alsways there to help. I had chosen another dr first but it din't work out with the other dr not that I had met him anyways I met his assistant and delt with their sectery. I got in a time crunch for my schedules at both of my jobs due to the upcomming holidays and not to mention the year end when all my deduactables have been met for insurance and the other dr didn't seem to care so I made a phone call explained the situation and they got me in to meet the dr. on the 22nd of Sept and had surgury a month later. Mind you I had all the pre work done since april and may because that is when I started this. I can say one thing and I am glad I made the change to him. He is a great guy and the days after surgury he was right there every morning to check on me. He also helped me in making a big decison and I am glad overall with the out come. Dr. Lalor and staff get and A++++ from me.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Lalor and his staff!! I go in with a smile and come out with a smile. They are all so kind and lots of fun!! When I had my surgery I was only suppose to be in the hospital for 3 days. Well I started to run a slight temp and my heart rate was up a little. Dr. Lalor refused to let me leave until HE was comfortable that I was ok. He did a few extra test and he monitored me for 3 extra days!! Yes 6 days was a lot but he was looking out for ME and my health and for that I thank him. He spoke with family in way that they could understand and answered all their questions for them. He cares for each person he does surgery on, you can just tell tell in his overall attitude. He attends our support groups which is awesome cause if we have any questions he is there to help us. I would highly recommend Dr. Lalor for anyone that is considering WLS.
I found Dr. Lalor to be very professional, extremely competent and very cautious. My first consult surprised me. He is a rare surgeon that has personality and took the time to get to know me as a person, not just a patient. He answered every question on my list and made me feel very comfortable. He explained the benefits, risks and other details. He has both excellent surgical skills as well as an amazing bedside manner. He saw me daily in the hospital and was quite encouraging. His office staff is top notch, although I do wish there would be someone available off hours to speak with.
My first impression was great. He was a very caring and cautious person. His office staff is wonderful. When i first started the process about eight months ago - I felt like a was just a number waiting for the slaughter. The new staff and Dr. changed my entire image of the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Wood County Hospital. Dr. Lalor and his staff are truly an improvement to the facility and I can tell you if you follow the Drs. order pre surgery - the post surgery is a breeze. It has been three weeks since my surgery - Dr. Lalor himself called me one week afterwards to inquire and his staff has followed up over the phone twice with me. I went in for my two weeks follow-up appt and could not have been happier with everyone in the office and their excitement for me.
I have to say that I was very impressed with Dr. Peter Lalor. He is very thorough and is very friendly. He takes every percaution before/during and after surgery. He is very easy to talk to and wants you to know as much about each surgery as he does. I took a friend to the seminar and she was really impressed with him. I took my husband to the consultation and he was very impressed. I like his demeanor. He actually told me to come directly to him if I'm not happy with any of the office staff, etc. He took his time with me when he was running very late. He impressed me above and beyond any doctor I have ever met before.
My first impression was at a support group and he seemed very knowledgeable.
I really think i made the right choice. He was great. Came up to the hospital on Thanksgiving evening to check on me. He has moved from Bangor to Bowling Green OH and I sure miss him but you all have a great surgeon.
He really is a caring surgeon and continues to give me advice if i ask him for it. I am dong great. I have 8 pounds to the surgeons goal. I AM A SUCCESS!!
The office staff in Bangor was great and always was there if you needed them. He wants you to follow the rules. You will have success if you follow the rules.
He has great surgical competence and a great bedside manner.
