Boston Medical Center Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Hess was I felt very comfortable with the idea of him preforming the surgery. I have only met with him once so far. HIs staff is great. They are alway available to answer my questions. The doctor is very thorough. He stresses that you have to go to the meetings so you will know others who have had the surgery. Yes its very structured. What I do like even though I am nervous about it is that you have to watch a film on the surgery and you have to take a Pysh. test to see if you are ready and if you qualify. I would rate him a 10. I would refer him to other people. The Quincy hospital and Boston medical center's program is a great one. I feel both are necessary.
I am in a new and unique situation my Doctor,Dr. Donald Hess is working in conjunction with Dr. Armour Force to expand their services beyond the city limits.
I have met and been screened by Dr. Don Hess @ BMC in Quincy to determine that I am a candidate for the surgery. I was been told that according to my BMI and prior history I am a good candidate.
A few weeks later I was enrolled in the program and some of the process was actually done in Quincy while other parts were completed at Dr. Force's offices in boston. together they will operate on me.
Dr Hess is absolutely wonderful! He was fabulous the first time I met him and is more fabulous now!! I think he is so kind, gentle, available and supportive. His office staff at quincy is very helpful, at BMC they seem much busier and not as available to help/assist. The program is set up in a confusing way (may be better now - I was one of the first through) - Dr Hess works w/Dr Forse and the office staff and hospital staff sometimes get confused, and you can get conflicting info.
I would reccommend Dr Hess to anyone, He has an excellent bedside manner, and I have complete confidence in his surgical competence...
