I had my Realize Band on August 18th and feel great!!!
Dr. Umbach is fantastic!!! I have to tell you that he makes you feel really comfortable and answers all your questions. I never felt like he wasn't listening to me when I had concerns.
Also Holly Hagel is great! She is always there for you if you have a question...I even called her on a Saturday morning and she was so nice to answer my questions....
Great people in their office and it's fun to go into the waiting room and talk with everyone that is getting ready for surgery or has already had it.
If you live in the area....PLEASE make sure you go see Dr. Umbach...You will not regret it!!!!

I think this Dr and his staff are great. Only complaint is office wait times but then again it is almost like a support group setting that allows people of all different stages of pre and post surgery to ask questions. He is very informative and easy to listen to.

I had my surgery by Dr. Umbach on June 16, 2010. His office is very professional and the doctor was very informative and knowledgable. We chose to have the sleeve procedure done. The day of the surgery everything went great.

I am now two weeks post op with two weeks protein shakes before the surgery and have lost 37 pounds. I am off my insulin for my diabeties and my family doctor is adjusting the rest of my medicine.

I was back at work 5 days after the surgery and feeling great. Can't eat much food but that is what it is all about.

My first impression of Dr Umbach was can he get the Job done. I had gone through trying to find a doctor to getting the insurance company to approve me. till when I meet him I was not trying to here another no. Lol

As time went by I was approve and excited about the surgey but other little kinks had to be work out.

The Staff at Blossombariatrics are should I say Holly was very supportive. she called me to keep me motivated she cried with me and always had a kind word for me even in her own family problems....Thank you Holly...

Dr. Umbach always asked me on every visit do I have any questions I always said no. and he would say. are you sure this is very serious you could die. and I didn't want to here that of all things..but it was the truth.

To Any one wanting to have the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr.Umbach after surgrey the next day Dr.Umbach came and sat with me in my room talking with me and my family making sure everything was ok.when some doctors come stay about five minutes and would not sit down...

With my the follow up appointments Dr.Umbach went over all my vitiamns and made sure i know the importance of taking them.

First Impression: Smart, clean, and kind.
Impression Changes: None for the worse..only got better the more I worked with them. Competent, caring and completely dedicated to their profession.
Office Staff: Can't say enough! Trustworthy, competent, diligent, tenacious with the insurance company, reliable and I can totally count on Holly Hagel, who went above and beyond for me.
Liked Least: At first, the "openness" of the office atmosphere. Then became to love it. Don't have to hid from what I am or was.
Future Patients Should Know: To relax and have confidence in Dr. Umbach's abilities. You can be yourself and not worry about it.
Aftercare Emphasis: Adamant about you knowing what to do and what to expect. This is most important!
Structured Aftercare Program: Absolutely - great.
Risks of Surgery Discussions: Talks about it at every visit, refers you to view online video classes "Emme" for information on before, during and after surgery. Answered all of my questions over and over again.
My Rating: 9: No one is perfect! But, they come close!
Both surgical competence and bedside manner were great. But, for me, the surgical competence is most important in the end.

Dr. Umbach and his entire staff are awesome! From start to finish they made the entire process so simple. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!!

So, I have always thought doctors were in it just for the money, not because they truly care about helping people. Well, Dr. Umbach proved me wrong...big time. He actually cares about people and makes sure you get the time you need at each and every appointment. He has a warm personality that would make anyone feel comfortable. I could go on and on about how wonderful Dr. Umbach is, but Survivor comes on soon. This may sound corny, but I feel truly blessed to have Dr. Umbach as my bariatric doctor.rnrnP.S. I had the Gastric Sleeve Surgery on Sept 23rd with Dr Umbach in Nevada. rnrnI can't say enough of great things about Dr Umbach and his wife Holly. I am an out of town patient and Dr Umbach made the surgery process stress free without any difficulties. Dr Umbach is very knowledgeable about gastric surgeries and extremely professional. My surgery went very smoothly. I had no complications and I am now entering my three-week post op and I feel great. It's been really easy for me. I have no regrets getting the sleeve or selecting Dr Umbach. I have lost 13 pounds since the surgery and it was the easiest 13 pounds I have ever lost. rnrnOne last thing, Dr Umbach sent me a photo of my new stomach and I have to say the staple line looks perfect, very clean and precise. My insurance kept giving us the run around and she took time to get the right answers and helped me understand what she deals with: they put up with a lot from insurance companies. My nurses were courteous and took very good care of me. They asked frequently about my pain level and I was never in too much pain during my stay. The surgical team worked well together and I felt good the whole time and was treated with respect: and being a fat girl you aren't always treated that way in the medical field. :( But there they had equipment to fit me and the beds were designed for heavy people. Dr. Umbach operated on me the past February. I had my reservations as anyone would, but as of today, I am very thankful that Dr. Umbach was the choice I made to operate on me. I choose the Lap Band procedure. I feel today as a new woman and thankful that of loosing my first 50 lbs. I have more to go, and every pound is a new beginning.
