These statements are only my personal impressions based on my own experiences. I am not making any statements about what other people may experience. My surgeon is Dr. Hoeltgen from the Barrington Surgeons Ltd. in Barrington Il. UnitedHealthcare sent me to the wrong specialist and I happen to get Dr. Hoeltgen by mistake. My first impression was how great he treated me before even knowing if the surgury would be approved. I spoke with him for almost 2 hours. I felt very at easy with him. I have since had more visits and my first impression has not changed. Dr. Hoeltgen explained the risks that are associated with this type of surgury very well. I think in the back of my mind I always thought that since I have no other medical problems that I am healthy. The Dr. advised me that the risks of surgury are far less than the risk of me developing future medical problems and that I am not healthy at my current weight. The staff in the office has been very nice. Good Sheppard Hospital has just started this type of program. Currently there is an aftercare program in place with patients participating. Out of the three surgeons that I visited with I felt the most comfortable with Dr. Hoeltgen. One concern that I have is that he has not performed as many surgerys as the other surgeons I visited with.
