I had my first visit with Dr. Warnock on 4/5/03
he was very plesent to speak with. He explained the surgery and risks to my husband and I. I felt very at ease with him. I cant wait until my surgery to start a new life. He said after surgery I would always be followed by him, and I felt that was important. I would reccomend any one thinking about having this surgery done to go to Dr. Warnock.

Dr. Warnock was exactly what I expectd based on the research I had done about him. He is warm, compassionate, and carring. In addition, his success rate and low mortality rate really put me at ease. I can't imagine going to anyone else for this surgery.

Dr. Warnock is truly the most caring physician I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with! I truly believe that this is a ministry for him. When I came to see him for my pre-op, he answered any unanswered questions I had. Then, taking my hands in his, he asked me very pointedly, Was I POSITIVE that this surgery was what I wanted to do? Was I sure I had researched the procedure, etc. to come to my conclusions. Once we discussed it, he took my hands and told me that he was going to ask God to bless my surgery. It's been a long time since anyone cared enough about me to pray! I knew then and there that I couldn't have picked a better surgeon. The morning of the surgery, he came in to the pre-op/make ready area and spoke with my husband and I and the anesthesiologist. Upon leaving, he kissed my forehead, and told my husband and I that he would take good care of me. I had complete faith and trust in him, and he never let me down. He's simply the best. Consequently, as a patient I wanted to do my best...follow his instructions, etc. because I don't want to let him or myself down. Not only is he a great surgeon, he is a great human being. The nurses on the floor can't say enough good about him either. They're impressed with the care he demands and expects for ALL of his patients.

I had consults with BTC in Wylie as well as UT Southwestern and Dr. Warnock over a year ago. All agreed that this surgery was a good plan for me. I was familiar with Dr. Warnock because he had performed surgery on several members of my family (successful appendectomy on my sister-n-law while 5 months pregnant, thyroid surgery on sister, grandfather anurism) and is an excellent surgeon. However; I did not realize what a kind man he is. I truly feel he is in this to help the patient and does not treat it as a business as some Doctors do. His office staff is always willing to help and answer questions. He addressed the surgery and our concerns and was willing to sit and answer all questions. He emphasizes the aftercare support meetings. He even came by to see me at the Rathbeger hospitality house after surgery (which he will not be paid for I am sure) the next day to check and see how I was doing before I left town. I think he is the greatest and you can search many places and not find anyone of his caliber!

I was very impressed with my first meeting with Dr.Warnock. He was very prompt and friendly. He explained the surgery to my husband and myself, even drew pictures to show what he would be doing. After asking me questions as to why I wanted to have RNY, he gave us a chance to ask questions. He asked us to pray about it and I told him I had already prayed and felt very sure that God had led me to him, and I was ready to go ahead. He took us to Debbie, who began the paper work. I called several times and was not able to speak with Debbie, so I called Tricare, and even went to their office. They assured me everything was okay, so I waited for the Dr.'s office to call. It took three weeks to get approval, and set my surgery date, April 2, 2003.

My first appointment with Dr. Warnock is scheduled in early March '03. His office staff was very courteous and helpful: the best I have experienced during my search.

March 8th Dr. Warnock was very professional and made me feel at ease within minutes. He was very thorough in explaining the procedures, risks, and the patient's responsibility to help achieve a positive outcome. He covered most of the questions I had planned to ask. I was a little nervous about surgery before the appointment, but left feeling confident in my surgeon and at peace about my decision. I've been a nurse in the metorplex for 30 years and have known a lot of doctors, but Dr. Wanock genuinely impressed me. I was also impressed with the office staff. Very courteous, knowlegeable and efficient. My first call to set up the pre op and surgery date was returned in less than 2 hours with all the arrangements complete. Since I am coming from out of town, appointments were scheduled at 1pm and after without my even asking!! WOW!!

When Dr Warnock walked into the room, he introduced himself to me and then to my husband. He asked us about our family and where we were from. He seemed to be honestly interested in what we had to say and in getting to know us, not only as a patient and spouse, but also as human beings. He then asked the standard question, why had I chosen to consider bariatric surgery. At first I gave him the medical reasons; but as I told him about all the failed attempts at dieting, I broke down and started to cry. He immediately handed me a tissue and held my hand. I told him I felt like a total waste of skin, a failure. He had me look him straight in the eye and firmly told me to never let those words come out of my mouth again. I was not a waste of skin or a failure. I was a child of God and worth being loved.
After I dried my eyes, he showed my husband and I what the procedure consisted of, by drawing everything on the paper that covered the examining table. My husband and I had a lot of intense questions, from the mortality rate with his own patients to people who have had to go back and have this procedure reversed. He never rushed us. He answered all of our questions completely. Now, I have read some comments in the testimonial section on his website; one of the women said she felt like he gave general answers and also blew off some of her questions by stating every patient is different. Frankly, some questions do get general answers and sometimes patients do react differently to various aspects of this surgery. I didn't find Dr Warnock evasive or uninterested, but quite the opposite. He told us to go home and pray about our decision before making it. Then he told us about the support group meeting and suggested we go to it and also do a lot of research.
I am so happy to announce after much praying and research, my surgery date is scheduled for April 7, 2003. Wish me luck and keep me and my family in your prayers!

Dr. Warnock is a very caring man. He is so patient and explains things very well. He has opened a new wing in the hospital for his patients. That ought to tell you how much he cares for his patients. I would use him again. He really wants this surgery to work for you.

I think I have a very different perspective of Dr. Warnock. I actually had the pleasure of working for him for about 6 months as his receptionist. At the time I was morbidly obese as I have been most of my life. I was in the middle of losing weight with the help of a drug called adipex. It worked quite well and I lost 60 lbs. The downside to that is I starting have some chest pains and had to stop taking the medication and I have put 70 lbs back on. Dr Warnock has also been my familys Dr for several years. As a family member of who loveds ones has been ill he has always been the most compationate man Ive ever met. Working in a Medical Office you see both sides of being a employee and working closely with the doctors and then you have the patient side. I would just like to say that all the sincerity that Dr Warnock expresses with his patients is very much genuiene. He is the most caring of doctors and Ive never heard him speak an unkind word about anyone including patients. I have the most absoulute respect for him. In the time that I spent in the office with him and his staff, I can say that I seen at least 98% sucess rate and for the other 2% that were not, was because they didnt take to heart what Dr Warnock told them to do after surgery. He is truly a angel in Cowboy Boots

I went on January 16, 2003 for my first meeting with Dr. Warnock. He has a great manner wich leads you to believe he really cares about his patients and wants to make your future better if you decide on the surgery. Hedescribed and drew pictures of the operation. He explained the good and the bad. He then introduced me to Debbie who schedules everything and takes care of the insurance end. She told me my insurance covered this operation and we could go ahead and schedule things but I explained my sister and I were going to do this together and her appointment was on January 22. We discussed my sister's insurance company and they require preapproval so we will wait for her insurance to be approved before scheduling. I am so nervous and excited, it is hard to wait.
