Dr. Warnock was a kind man, who was very understanding, and who fought for what he thought was best for me. I had originally gone to see him about a hernia, but he said he would see to fixing it after I had gastric bypass, after I had indicated to him that I had tried the previous six months to get approved. Dr. Warnock did everything he could to get me approved, because it was in my best interest, as I had a cholesterol level of 320. His staff was kind and supportive. His aftercare is thorough, and he always tells me things to try, to avoid, and things to look out for. He has always called me personally to answer my questions. He is an example of both surgical competence and bedside manner. I have recommended him to all of my friends who are interested in finding out more about this life altering surgery.

When I first met Dr. Warnock I thought he was a very kind soft-spoken Christian man. As it turns out that first impression was right on target. Also, his qualifications are impecable. He has this surgery down to an art. He has an unbelievable record. He answered all of my hundreds of questions. He tells you all the risks of surgery. He did not rush me or make me feel like a clock was running. Everyone in his office was well informed and very helpful and friendly. I had my surgery June 3rd, 2004. I am so glad that I found out about him. He was awesome. He never made me feel uneasy about my weight or anything else. He just made me understand that this is not a cure but a tool to help me have a healthy life. He is very understanding. When speaking to him you know he knows exactly what he is talking about. He really cares about every one of his patients. He speaks to you like he is your family. I have known alot of Bariatric patients and I am surprised that there is very little or no aftercare. I believe this is a major surgery that changes your life forever and that there needs to be plenty of aftercare. Dr. Warnock believes this too. He says you are his patient for the rest of your life. He is very encouraging and supportive. He gives you his home phone # if you need to call him for anything. How many doctors would do that? I believe he is my gift from God. I was terrified of this surgery but I knew in order to get healthy I would have to get this done. If I had not found Dr. Warnock I am not sure I would have gone through with it. The surgery went so smoothly and I feel fantastic. I think this is the best doctor ever. I would rate him #1 on every level. When I went to Dr. Warnock's office the next week and I saw him I almost cried I was so happy so I asked him if I could give him a hug. He said he loved hugs. I thanked him for helping me through all this. Also I would like to say that my husband was so worried about me and this surgery. Dr.Warnock helped him through this with his informative information, kind words and a hug. My husband said he thinks he is the best doctor ever. I would recommend him for everyone. There was not one negative thing about this whole experience. Thank you Dr. Warnock.

Dr Warnock is a very excellent surgeon. He has a very good bed side manner and really cares and watches out for his patients. He did my Roux-n-y and my later in the year hernia. My wife and I see him once a year for our check up. It's like visiting an old friend. My wife had gastric bypass one year before I did. We both are very happy with the results and Dr. Warnock.

Note that this review IS 100% positive. Coming from me that is a rare thing. I am very leary of the medical profession, as I believe one does not get good science from most doctors these days. I believe I am a consumer and if I don't like the doctor or the office I fire them. However, in this case I must praise Dr. Warnock for his knowledge and bed side manner. The above is my personal experience and impressions.

My first impression of Dr. Warnock was good. He seemed hurried the day of my initial consult but took his time explaining the procedure to me. He allowed time for both my spouse and I to ask questions. I am impressed with Dr. Warnock's demeanor and his knowledge and I am at peace with using him as my surgeon for this procedure even though I have Dr.'s in my town that perform this same procedure I choose to travel to be able to use Dr. Warnock's services. He did ask me to lose weight before surgery so I would be in better condition to handle surgery. Office staff are friendly and very willing to share in your journey towards health. He has a very structured before and aftercare program. Most of my questions were answered before I even went to my first visit. He was very upfront about risks and I can't think of anything negative thus far. I was not to thrilled to be told that I would have to lose 40 pounds before surgery but I know this is for my welfare after and during surgery. To date I would rate him a 10 however, I have not had surgery yet. I am confident in his surgical abilities and would advise anyone to him.

I have had only one meeting with Dr. Warnock; but I was impressed by him. It was very late in the day and he didn't seem at all bothered by that fact like some Doctors I have seen...... no hurry up just answered my questions very openly and very clearly explained the process to me. I have spoken with Joann and Debbie both in his office during the approval process. I saw Dr. Warnock on Feb 23, 2004 for the first time and on April 17 I received my approval from my insurance company. I think this is very fast and was not at all cumbersome with excessive paperwork.
My surgery date is April 27th. I will meet again with Dr. Warnock late on April 26th & I will keep you posted of my progress and how I feel about Dr. Warnock as we proceed.
I do very much appreciate his Witness of faith during the meeting. It gives me confidence that we are on the same team. I would never do this had I not prayed and gotten confirmation from God that this is the answer I have been needing.

I was very impressed with Dr. Warnock. He was very concerned that I understand the procedure and all that followed. It was very reasuring to me to find not only was he a Christian but we are of the same faith. So it helped me to know he sees a lot of things the same as I do. I did not feel rushed he gave me plenty of time to ask questions and he took great pains to make sure I understood his answers. He was very serious when talking about the risk involved and also the commitment that you make when having surgery. He invited me to the support group that was meeting the following saturday and I did attend that. It was wonderful to listen to everyones story. I had the opportunity to talk to several people after the meeting and that was great. To listen to those who have had Dr. Warnock as their surgeon and hear what their opinions where and what experiences they have had was very beneficial.
The biggest problem so far is not getting return calls from the lady that does his insurance coordinating for him. I am in the process of being reviewed right now and I had to find out on my own that my paperwork was sent in and the status. Several phone messages were left for his insurance person and still no return calls.

My first impression of Dr. Warnock was a very good one. He's so down to earth unlike some physicians who talk above your head and act as though they are "better than". My first impression only got better as time went on. However, Dr. Warnock is SO busy. I think he should slow down a bit and take time for himself. He has such a personal relationship with all of his thousands of patients, I worry about him being overwhelmed. That is what I least liked about him - always being so over loaded, so if that's the worst I can say, then he's a pretty awesome person. He is the only surgeon I know who attends the monthly support group meetings. He totally believes in the support, excersise, etc of after care.
He tells you exactly what could and what will happen when you have surgery. Death is a possibility and he tells you that. However, he did pray with me during my appointment that I had the day before surgery. He really is a God-send.

Dr. Warnock is the absolute BEST Bariatric Surgeon. He is rated as one of the top 25 in the entire Country, yet is as humble as they come. He is 150% committed to the success of his patients. He will tell you what you NEED to hear, not what you WANT to hear.
