Dr.Mejias is a very caring surgeon. He makes you feel at ease, and he answers all questions you have. He has a great staff. A great shout out goes to his nurse Janet!

Just wanted to leave a quick note to say the Janet, Dr. Mejias's nurse has been a tremendous help to me during this journey.

My first impression of Dr. Mejias was very good. He is very informative and very straight forward about this being a tool and not an easy way out. He also explains everything that will be done.

At the first seminar I attended I heard postive things about Dr. Mejias. After my first meeting with him, I felt confident in selecting him. I think he is a great surgeon and he cares. His office staff was very helpful. Janet, his nurse was wonderful she stays on top of getting the insurance approvals taken care of as well as assisting Dr. Mejias in surgery and aftercare. One thing that impressed me was their promotion of the aftercare program. There is a support group meeting once a month which Janet, Kacey (the nutritionist) and Dr. Mejias attend. I would rate Dr. Mejias 10+.

Dr. Mejias is an excellent surgeon! My sugery was performed on December 14, 2004, and I was detained in the hospital until he was sure that my blood oxygen level was in an acceptable level. This meant staying three days longer than the usual release date. I totally placed my care in Dr. Mejias' hands as I have complete confidence in his professional capability and his knowledge of this type of surgery. I would recommend this man to ANYONE seeking weight loss surgery or any other type of surgery within his area of expertise.

Dr. Mejias office staff are oustanding individuals that really seem to go out of their way, taking their time to tend to the patients' needs and to accomodate them. His nurse, Janet is so commendable! When available, she makes sure to take your calls, answer your questions, or get back to you with the answers if she doesn't have them at hand. She is the doctor's right hand, and I believe he is blessed to have her there.

Ok, I have to be totally honest. My first first impression of Dr. Mejias is that is is a very good looking man. Dr. Mejias is very honest with you and very straiht forward about the surgery and the things that could go wrong. He really seems to care about you and the problems that you have had being morbidly obese. He is very comfortable to talk to and to ask any type of question. When ever I have met with him wether it be in his office or while I was in the hosptial he always has a smile on his face and is always in a good mood. Janet is just as great. She is very nice and seems to care just as much as Dr. Mejias. They are both great and I am glad that I know them as a person and as their paitent. The only thing that I can say I have had a problem with is that there has been a couple of times before and after surgery that I have called and left a message for someone to call me back either with questions of problems, I would never get a call back. Over all I am very pleased with the choice I made with using Dr. Mejias.
11-08-04: I have had a couple of minor problems from my WLS. No matter how big or small the problem Dr. Mejias's office is great at working me in. I have to say this again, but they really do care.

Dr. Mejias is wonderful. I first met with him 10 months prior to my surgery. I drilled him with questions for 1 1/2 hrs and he answered all of them and seemed to have all the time in the world for me. His staff are great. They are helpful and I've had no problems with them. Dr. Mejias takes his profession seriously and take all precautions necessary. "Better to be safe than sorry" motto. He does have an aftercare program (meetings, etc.). He didn't have to address the risks of the surgery to me because I had done my homework prior to my 1st meeting with him and with his answers to my questions and with the information I had already gattered prior to my surgery, I was fully informed of the risks.

I would rate Dr. Mejias 12 out of 10! I think his surgical competence and his bedside manner are both great. I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Mejias was very nice and friendly yet staight forward about what you would go through.My impression just got better about him.The office staff is the most helpful staff I have ever met.His nurse Janet was always availible if you ever had any concerns and she was always so nice.There Really wasen't anything I didn't like about Dr. Mejias.Dr. Mejias is the best doctor for this surgery.He makes you at ease about everything.He emphasized aftercare and it's importance to make the surgery a success and to keep oyu getting better everyday.He stayed on me in the hospital to walk and walk.He was always nice and caring when he came to check on you as well.Yes,they have a very structured aftercare program.Addressed risks very well.On a scale 1-10 I would rate him a 10+.Both surgical competence and bedside manner were great.
