Antonio Williams, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

Dr. Williams is a very funny guy. He's very talented at what he does.
No.
His staff is overworked!
Dr.Williams is soo busy with his patients that it is hard to get one on one time with him.
You need to do most of the research on your surgery on your own before and after the surger.
Not sure yet...
His surgical competence is much better than his bedside manner. His staff does most of the busy work for him.

Dr. Williams is great. He is a good doctor and he is there for you. He will tell you straight up no bones about it. He says I am your surgeon first and your first last your health is my main concern. If you have any problems he will be there for you. I think that Stacy in his office was the greatest help to me she answer all your questions and the ones she didn't know she told she would get back with you and she did in a matter of minutes. Dr. Williams went over all the do and don'ts about the surgery, he explained in detail everything that he was going to do and approximately how long you would be out of work.I would recommend Dr. Williams a thousands time over. Great Surgeon!!!!!!!!

My first impression of Dr. Williams was that he was caring enough, a little too professional. Jennifer and the rest of the staff were excellent. Dr. Williams not only performed my WLS, he did an emergency appendectomy sfter my WLS that has forever changed my perception of him. My appendix had ruptured and I was extremely ill for a long time, but he got me through all the rough spots. He is an excellent surgeon and I'm so grateful that he was my surgeon. While must people say they want bed side manners, I would take surgical professionalisn over it any day!

My doctor was a kind and very concern person. He explain this is life changing. But he told the true about what was going to happen. He is a wonderful man and he make you laugh and feel good about yourself. If patient are concerning this surgery they need to see Dr. Williams. He explain that the surgery was serious and there maybe complication but that what a docotr is to tell you the about the surgery and what to expect. In an overall job he is the best and I thank him for it and helping me reach my goals.

My first impression of Dr. Williams was that he was very confident, almost cocky, but in a good way. He was very informative in his area of expertise. He was able to answer all of the important questions and honest about the ones that he could'nt answer.
He explained pros & cons, possible complications and remedies, and post-op expectations. His office staff for the most part is very polite. However, they are very busy and sometimes was a little slow in setting up referral appointments.
Overall, at this point, prior to surgery, on a scale of 1 thru 10, I would rate Dr. Williams a 8.

I was invited to a group meeting to meet Dr. Williams and to hear about the pros and cons of WLS. There was a cancellation and one other person was there but didn't meet the BMI. Thus I was the only one to meet with Dr. Williams. I think the meeting would have been more valuable with others present. Dr. Williams seemed to be a little brief because of that. After a visit to a technician I found that I had minor gall stones. Dr. Williams indicated that I should have my gall bladder removed and gave me the choice of having it done as a separate procedure or having it done at the time of my WLS. I opted to have it done before my WLS. Everything went fine except that I always had the feeling that Dr. W was discounting my concerns after the surgery. Iwas told to wait to hear about my insurance for the WLS. I phoned a couple of times and was told to wait, the claim was in. After about nine weeks, I became concerned and got a little aggressive with the staff. Well, it turns out that the worst part was that his office somehow misfiled my chart and they never applied for the insurance for my WLS! Eventually it was filed and when it was filed, BCBS approved it almost instantly (I think Dr. Williams office pushed it hard).
Aftercare was similar to my first experience: My concerns were always sort of discounted as "that's normal" period, the end. I am now 3 weeks post-op and everything seems to be going fine just as Dr. Williams said. Maybe I just needed more "hand-holding".

DR. Williams was very nice and seemed to care about what I had to say. I was first taken to a room where a medical history was taken. Then I went to a room with several other people to talk over the surgery. He ask for questions and was able to answer each one. He also said that if we thought of anything we would like to ask in private that he would answer them after the talk. I was sent for an EKG and ultrasound both went well and I am waiting for a call from his office.
I have had my surgery and still feel very glad I used him. He is very nice and down to earth.

Dr Williams was very up front about what to expect both before and after surgery. For your first visit he meets with a group of about 8 people to explain the process and each one individually. At this time he explained the risks and complications of the surgery, that supplement vitamins would be a lifelong commitment, and you would walk the day after surgery if you were able to walk in the day of surgery. He struck me as very competent and liked him right off when we first meet after my daughters surgery. I am 1 week post op and have had no complications of any kind to this point. His office personal were very friendly and helpful when I needed something. I would highly recommend Dr Williams to anyone thinking of having this surgery.
