Andrew Jamieson, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
First impression was that he had trouble looking directly at me - although I had been warned of this by a friend who had had WLS with Mr Jamieson!
During the consultation, I found him to be thoughtful, open and easy to deal with.
I felt I had to talk him into accepting me as a patient - mostly as I live about a 10 hour drive away. Unfortunatley, WLS is not common in Australia, and it was almost impossible to find a surgeon in Sydney (2.5 hours from home), so I had to go to Melbourne. Aftercare may be an issue - although I have assured him that if there are major problems, we would jump in the car and head straight for Melbourne!
I feel like I'm going into this somewhat blind - BUT I see my WLS friend about once a week, so I always have a sounding board. She had her surgery about 3 months ago, so has been a great help.
