Advanced Surgical Associates Bariatric Center
I had my surgery with Dr Feteiha on 4/16/12. I will not say he is not a good dr, but just my luck the experience was not the best. The process of getting approved went smoothly. After surgery I felt like I was completely alone. I was in alot of pain and calling for questioning I felt like I was bothering the staff. I had the VSG and I lost approx 50lbs. Needless to say I was/ am disappointed. All of the pain and money only to have lost 50lbs?!?!?!? During my post office visits I informed Dr Feteiha something wasnt right, He blamed by eating habits and asked if I was pregnant. I kept telling him I am eating small amounts but still hungry and forced to eat again even if it is a small amount. And I am not pregnant btw. He recommended I go to group meetings. Two years and and edosopy by another surgeon I am sad to announce my sleeve was not performed properly :(. My current surgeon told me I have a small hole at the top and a small hole at the bottom, and a regular stomach. Immediattely I asked if I stretched my stomach out. He told me know, it was a botched surgery. I have mainted my weight for the past two year so I know it is not my eating habits, and i am currently trying to undergo revision surgery with my current surgeon.
I love Dr Feteiha!!!! He and his staff are very supportive of what it is like to to go through the process of bariatric surgery. His staff was available for questions regarding the process. We discussed at length which bariatric procedure would be best for me and my lifestyle. He took alot of time explaining the risks and benefits of the procedure. He post surgical care and follow up are very important to him and he requires every three month follow up for the 1st year. His surgical competence and bedside manner are nothing less than phenominal. I know this because I work as an operating room nurse and I have worked with him. That is why I chose him. I felt he made me feel very comfortable from the word go. I have had nothing but a positive experience.

My husband has a severe hernia that is causing his stomach to push into his chest cavity. It has been causing him to vomit almost every day, extreme heart attack-like chest pains and when he lies down to sleep at night, food and bile will start pouring out of his nose. His gastroenterologist referred him to Dr. Feteiha to have his stomach wrapped around the bottom of his esophagus asap, as my husband is an insulin-dependant diabetic and also has a pre-cancerous condition in his esophagus. Dr. Feteiha and his office knew, since 2009, that my husband only had Medicare, as he is permanently disabled, which only covers 80%. Every single doctor my husband goes to, let's him sign a hardship clause for the 20%, as Medicare pays well enough and almost everyone on Medicare is on a fixed income. My husband had only 2 regular office visits with Dr. Feteiha, in which the last one he had sent him for an esophageal manometry and said that pending the results, he would schedule the surgery. My husband went through hell with this test, he had to have a tube squeezed through his nose down his esophagus while he was awake. His stomach is so bad that bile just kept pouring back out of his mouth. After 5 attempts to do this test, the PA said he never seen anything like this and that he couldn't perform this test. My husband was so distraught because he was worried that this would effect the surgery and he just cannot live like this anymore. Well, we never got to find out. Two days ago my husband had his follow-up with Dr. Feteiha, but was not allowed to see him due to a $15 balance for the last office visit. After offering to pay the $15, we were then informed that the doctor wanted 20% of the cost of the surgery up front, it could not be billed or made in payments. The doctor was standing off to the side trying to avoid us and having his office staff turn us away for him. My husband even asked if he could just speak to Dr. Feteiha to see if there was something we could work out or if he could refer my husband to another surgeon. We were treated like less than human and turned away. I then had to argue with the staff to give me a copy of his medical records, because they said "they didn't have time to be making copies". When they did give them to me, they only made me copies of his records from 2 years ago, nothing recent showing how bad his condition currently is. I have never met a more incompassionate doctor or office staff in my entire life. He waited til after all of this to turn my husband away, never mentioning about paying thousands up front. Every doctor we have told this to has said it was handled terribly and they were just taken back by the whole situation. I thought doctors take an oath to help people, apparently this doctor is way more concerned about money than any of his patients health. Good luck to anyone having even an elective surgery by Dr. Feteiha, because if something goes wrong and you don't have coverage for it, he will be leaving you out to the wolves!
His compassion and bedside manner is outstanding, and the office staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr Feteiha to anyone for their weight loss goals.

I found him to be very calm and very direct.rnMy first visit with the Dr was on july 29th so I havent really had the chance to have a full opinion as of yet. But my first impression of him was a good one. Dr Feteiha answered my questions honestly and gave me his true feelings on the type of surgery I should get. Well I had my second visit with him on Sept 2, 2008 and I still like the way he is and he questioned me about my hospital stay on Aug 11-18, and he was concerned, especially when I told him I had to go back on predisone. Then I had a visit with the nutritionist on Sept 4,2008 and that was very informative I liked laurie and the way she talked to me and how she explained everything about the surgery and what I have to do before and after. rnWell I have had all of my exams, I have gone to a cardiologist and everything is good with my heart he told me I have a healthy heart. Thank God. I have also been to the psychiatrist and that visit went well. Now my next visit Dr Feteiha will submit everything to my insurance and then once he gets that back we will set a date. I am at the point now that I cant wait. I just want to be healthy and I am trying to loose weight now, I have lost its not easy but I do the best I can.rnWELL IT IS 4/27/09. 1 WK EXACTLY AFTER MY SURGERY. rnI love Dr. Feteiha and his staff Lourdes, Karmarie and her sister. They make you feel good about coming to the office and seeing them and its a nice thing when ur surgeon and his staff makes u feel that way.
Everything I have to say concerning Dr.Feteiha is 100% positive. He is straight forward and explains everything step by step.Even though I knew much concerning the proceedure,he told me to start from scratch.HE also REQUIRES attending his seminar before your first visit with him, which is a great idea since you can learn a lot from him and the post-op speakers. I would like to publicly thank Dr. Feteiha and his staff for their courtesy, professionalism and patience. I also would like to give special thanks to Lourdes Zapatas, who handled my case from the seminar up to my surgery, she told me not to worry, that she would make sure everything would go smoothly, and it did. Thanks again.Funny that Jilda and Karmarie recognized my voice and made me feel like i was person and not a patient, thanks for your personal attention. I was on a first name basis with eveyone which made it that much more pleasant. I would reccomend Dr.FETEIHA and his staff to anyone . THANK YOU again,rn David
My first impression was that Dr. Feteiha was.. how good could he be since he is very young BUT after listening to him speak at the support group meeting and meeting with him 1 on 1 ... I was very comfortable with him and making the decision to have him do my surgery was easy.rnDr.Feteiha and his office staff are very knowledgable and take the time with you to answer any and all questions and concerns..they have been wonderful every step of the way with me and I know that if and when I need him he's just a phone call away. The few times I have called Dr. Feteiha since my surgery he has called back right away..he really makes you feel like he cares about you and your recovery and this life long journey of ours and I'm eternally grateful to him for giving me this 2nd chance at a thinner and healthier life!!rnI would definitely recommend him to anyone that is planning to have the gastric bypass done!!!
My first impression of Dr. Feteiha was that he seemed very young to have established such a reputation, and that his reputation for being very handsome was also well deserved. I was very quickly impressed with his intelligence and calm, confident demeanor. He isnt as young as he looks, by the way! He was extremely thorough and honest in his presentation of the facts, options, and realities of the surgical option, and emphasizing that it is not a cure, but the beginning of an effective treatment for obesity. rnThe office staff is mostly very helpful. His nurses and insurance people, the surgery scheduler, nutritionist, etc couldnt be more friendly and helpful. rnAftercare is very important in his practice, and he has a very excellent support group which he attends and moderates. rn
Dr. Feteiha came highly recommended and after meeting him I understood why. My first impression was \"my, he is young\" but after the first office visit I was convinced that I had chosen the best of the best! It took me more than two years to decide to have bariatric surgery, but with the extensive information shared by Dr Feteiha and his staff, I was more than prepared. rnHe has the BEST bedside manner I have EVER received, he is knowledgeable, kind, patient, understanding and competent. His aftercare program is supportive and the fact that he is accessible via email (and actually responds) blew my mind. I recommended him to several other friends who had the same successful and positive experience. I will continue to send patients to this wonderful doctor.rnI am almost 5 years out and I am very healthy and happier than I have been in my 44 years of living. Dr. Feteiha saved my life and I truly thank God for him!!!
