I am scheduled for surgery currently this December, during christmas week. I have not had my surgery yet but I just wanted to say that Dr. Kim and his team have been nothing but wonderful. Shawna Fletcher is my advocate and she is on top of her game, cares and always calls back when she says she will. I truly believe that Dr. Kim is the best in the area and am confident in him.

All of the support groups and info sessions have been very insightful and informative. Everyone has taken a lot of time with me to answer any questions I have had.

Getting this surgery is a long process with a lot of appointments. Just do what they ask of you and everything will go just fine.

I will update after my surgery.

My 5 Stars are for Dr. Kim, my anesthesiologist, my pre-surgical team, my recovery room team and all of my post surgical nursing and care staff at the hospital..

I absolutely love Dr. Kim. This man is on his game, straightforward and knows his stuff.
I will always recommend Dr. Kim. He is the bomb.

His front office staff and some of his advocates leave so much to desire it is pathetic. Sadly I don't believe Dr. Kim knows what goes on when he is not there or realizes how bad some of his office staff makes him look. The front end staff appear to enjoys one another's company more than they do working with existing patients and new patients.
Dr. Kim's front end staff is the first line, first impression and the first contact potential patients have to Dr. Kim.
They need to have a caring compassionate and empathetic front staff, which does not exist in the front end staff. There are a few exceptions, not many though.
My very first experience was after being being referred to Dr. Kim by another Florida Hospital Surgeon was not professional by any means what so ever.
My original surgeons office sent over the referral which was completely ignored by Dr. Kim's office staff. Normally after a referral is made I will hear from the new Dr.'s office within 36 hours. I heard nothing from Dr. Kim's office for a week. I called to verify that Dr. Kim's office received the referral. The gal who answers the phone, The front end receptionist stated she had not seen a referral. Ended up, I called my referring surgeons office several times which resulted in the referral being re-sent more than 4 times before the gal told me that Dr. Kim's office does NOT take or accept referrals and that my referring surgeon should know this.
I was told at this point after talking to Dr. Kim's office staff about 7 times before I was told I had to attend the infomercial before I could even be seen, even with a referral.
Ironically, they were having a session that very night so both my husband and I attended. I was assigned a patient "advocate", define advocate. My first patient "advocate" Crystal, had no idea what she was doing or what her job description entailed. After a couple of weeks of frustration, unanswered and incorrect e-mails, I called the Director of Customer Experience for Florida Hospital to get some help with the situation. I was contacted by Dr. Kim's office manager, who is awesome, she promptly switched me to a new advocate, Shawna who knows what she was doing and is very good at it.

I recently had my R-N-Y and was and will always be pleased with Dr. Kim, my anesthesiologist, my pre-surgical team, my recovery room team and all of my post surgical nursing and care staff at the hospital..

I highly recommend Dr. Kim. He is worth the battles you go through with his staff to get to your goal.

The other thing that bothers me, the advocates and front end staff I have encountered have not had bariatric surgery nor have they battled weight and obesity issues so they really have no idea what it is all about or how important it is to we the patients.

Dr. Kim is the best doctor I've ever had. This was my first surgery and he made it very easy for me. I saw him at a support meeting and he quoted all kinds of statistics and studies, including very recent ones. He keeps on top of the research. This showed me his passion. He is very personable in person. Just a regular guy, not a high and mighty surgeon. I believe he genuinely cares for his patients.

Great experience! Dr. Kim was extremely nice, took time out to answer my question, and was very patient. I really liked that he was very realistic about my surgical expectation. I am extremely happy with his practice.

Had such high hopes for Dr. Kim and going forward with surgery but after how rude and insulting his team is. I would stay away from Amanda, she is the patient "advocate". She is rude and incosiderate its amazing. Its such a shame to see so many people come to the seminars and to know that they will go thru hell with this office, while we have suffered so much being overweight. I reccomend you all try Dr. Marema at Flagler he had kim's job before. Also, the pschologist Dr. Ferguson who is 10 yrs bariatrice patient did not have the surgery by Dr. kim. Dont let them also fool you that they have had zero leaks that is 100% legal lie.

What can I say? Dr. Keith Kim and his staff has been awesome through my process. Shawna (my coordinator in the office), has been more than excellent. She is alway answering my questions (providing more than enough information), returning my calls with no hesitation.. Love her :-) During my consults, Dr. Kim and his staff and went above and beyond in helping me feel secure and at ease. Will choose no other.

All the reviews sound wonderful, wish I can be one of them. I have been waiting for a year now for this surgery. Never met Dr. Kim he was not available when I went to first seminar. I have cancer which needs surgery but it cannot be preformed until I have gastric bypass to loose weight. Making it necessary so wound and healing time is not a dangerous factor. I for some reason, cannot get past Dr. Kim's office staff. There was a goal weight set of 310lbs. At the time my weight was 328lbs. Eighteen pounds difference! Now I am currently 335lbs, mostly due to medication for cancer. I met with dietician, Ann, (very caring person) with decided on 1500 cal diet which I was on and adding protein shakes and fiber drinks. I have been following this regimem for over a month, weight loss has not been sucessful. My oncoligist is very concerned, time is an issue. Cancer needs to be removed as it can spread to pelvis and other areas. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Apparently Dr. Kim is not aware of my situation or according to all positive reviews I would not be still waiting for surgery date :( Office staff keeps stating Dr. Kim will not consider surgery until goal weight is met! This is second round of clearance letters everything is a go except goal weight, afterall, what is 15-20 pounds when you are already obese and have other existing health concerns.

Dr Kim is the first Dr/ Surgeon that I have EVER been to that doesnt make me feel like he is in a rush to get to the next patient. He actually came in the room and sat down like he had all day to spend with me. He gave me the same feeling in the hospital, both prior to surgery as well as the day after when he came in to check on me / discharge me (per my request since I was doing so well medically). He EVEN had the courtesy to use a pillow to cover my panties when I lifted my dress so he could check my incisions. This is surprising to me as a) I did have panties on, b) was in my hospital room and c) was only him, nurse, my husband and me in this room. He actually CARES!!! I feel like I have a "daddy" type watching over me .. meaning I am safe and secure in his care! Cant ask for more.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Kim, his staff and Celebration Health. This doctor REALLY cares about his patients. He makes your plan clear as day and there is ample information and staff to utilize within their multidisciplary program. His staff is a reflection of him. Caring and dedicated to Excellence. My scars are already healing beautifully. I have never felt so good in my life. This is the best decision I have ever made. Thank you Dr. Kim!!!

The offices of Dr. Keith Kim at Celebration are a well oiled machine. I attended an initial seminar and they got the ball rolling from there. They updated me along the way and gave me lists of "to-do" until i got the next list of to-do's.

I met Dr. Kim at the seminar but got a better idea of him a few months later. Dr. Kim sponsored a walk for obesity at the hospital. If you were his patient and agreed to walk, he would pay out of his own pocket the entrance fee. I went. He was there and he walked with us, supported us and I was amazed that a Dr. would be so dedicated to his feild that he was willing to go above and beyond.

My only negative exerience was that the staff did not inform me of hospitialization fees that were to be paid prior to the surgery. I knew the exact $ for the Dr's fee's, phyche fees, nutritionist fees, fill fees, but the hospitialization fees were told 10 days prior to surgery (an additional $1300 I was not prepared for). Possibly i missed a memo, possibly they could be more clear. Either way, lesson learned. This was my only bad (if you could even call it that) experience.
