Dr. Trivedi performed my gastric bypass surgery well; there were no complications. He was patient with me and really seemed to care about my health. I am glad that I decided to go with Dr. Trivedi for my procedure. I recommend him to anyone who needs weight loss surgery. His office staff members are friendly and helpful. It can be busy at times and the wait time in the waiting room is long but Dr. Trivedi is worth the wait.

I had surgery 8/11/11 (last month). I'm very particular about certain things and I have not ONE complaint about Dr. Ewing or his office. I was so shocked by the attention and service I've gotten and continue to receive from Advanced Lap. I have had people available to me 24/7 practically, since before surgery, at the hospital, and now after surgery. Everything was perfectly explained to me, and Dr. Ewing is very patient about listening to any issue/concern of mine. I don't know about any other surgeons, but I don't think they could be any better than Dr. Ewing! So far I am extremely pleased. :)

I underwent the Roux-EN-Y Gastric by-pass on August 1st 2011. Just 33 days ago... I was a severe diabetic with sugars at 330 or higher everyday. I took three different oral medications as well as 116 units of insulin every evening to keep the sugars from going any higher than that. My blood pressure was on average 165 / 95 or higher. I took two different oral medications to treat that. I suffered from severe numbness in my hands and feet, lost of vision in my right eye, sleep apnea, and asthma, to mention just a few. I generally felt horrible. I finally decided to take my life back. Just 4 days after the surgery I was off ALL diabetes medications as my sugars balanced out and now run about 95 everyday. Within 3 weeks I was off ALL blood pressure medications (now running 114/75 at a max). I no longer have trouble breathing at night and have already lost 31 lbs. I feel my body coming alive again. If i could say one thing to anyone out there thinking about undergoing this surgery... when we are sick, we do not live the life we should. TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE!!!

Dr. Schmidt is the best. He and his office have guided me on this journey so far. He is kind, smart and really cares about his patients and their health. He is not looking for the $$$, he wants us to be health and enjoy life. The office provides a well rounded aray of services for both pre and post op varying from general advice to nutritional help. Hackensack Hospital was terrific too.

IT IS A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE! One you deserve as much as I did! Go talk to Dr. Schmidt about what surgery could do for you! It could very well be the best decision you ever make!

My first impression of Dr. Schmidt was that he seem to be a very professional and out spoken person about the surgery he preforms and gives you a sense that you are in the right place. He really knew what he was taking about and keep it real with the good and risk of surgery. The awards in this office also makes you feel like he is the person to pick for your surgery. He is great takes his time to speak to you and answer any question you have. I was very impress and still post op I am very happy with the level of professionalism of his care.

His office staff is GREAT from the girls in the office to my assign coordinator Michelle. I was very please. I have to negative about this whole team they gave me what I expected and more.

The hospital care provided is the best. It is like you have a personal assistant 24-7 for you and all your needs. The instruction given to me when it was time to go home was very informative. I am please to have pick the correct person. THANK YOU DR. SCHMIDT :)

Dear Dr. Schmidt:

Thanks to your seminar and Janice VillaRosa, I am so glad I finally decided to go along and have the Realize band. I had the surgery on April 4, 2011 and have lost a total of 50 pounds as of July 20th. JAnice has been an angel not only to me but also to my sister, who had the surgery on the same day, and as promised she has been there for us from the first day going in and coming out the surgery also in the recovery room. She is undoubtedly our angel as well as yourself.
I KNOW she is an asset to your office in every sense of the word. I can call and count on her 24/7.
If I am not sure about anything I call her and she reinforces me.
I again want to thank you an Janice for gfiving me back my life....

Dr. Hans Schmidt had done my Sleeve Surgery on July 12th. I am the type of patient that is unlike any other patient. I explained that my stomach gets very upset before surgery from nerves and the anxiety plus the anesthesia and when I wake up I am very sick to my stomach. Dr. Schmidt had the anesthesiologist put a patch behind my ear (like the ones you wear for sea sickness) before surgery and then show me in the operation room that he had 2 meds feeding thru my IV for it as well and will continue in my IV until I was discharged. You see I am an Acid Reflux /IBS patient so upset stomachs is an everyday occurance and worse during surgery. Thanks to Dr. Schmidt and his team at Hackensack I only woke up feeling a little upset in the stomach and have been fine ever since. Thanks for listening to me and taking my word. Kudos to you all.

I could not be happier with dr.ewing and all the staff @ advanced laparoscopic ass. First class treatment all the way. When you choose a surgeon here you get everybody who is involved in this office. You can just tell the relationship they have with Hackensack Medical center when the doctors or aides are making there rounds checking on patients. Tip my hat to Hackensack Medical Center also as you can tell this match between doctor and hospital are in sync and have plenty of experience working this procedure.

I was very impressed with the Weight Loss Surgery Info Seminar provided by Advanced Laparoscopic Associates (ALA) - and doubly impressed with Dr. Ewing and signed up immediately for the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) with him. Today I am 5-weeks post surgery and can't praise Dr. Ewing and staff enough. One- Dr. Ewing is an excellent surgeon. Most people use 2 rows of stitching for the VSG, Dr. Ewing does 3 plus edge sutures by hand. Also ALA provides a comprehensive post-surgery program. My insurance company's case nurse was very impressed with the post-surgery program they offer and commented to me that i had found a rare offering of bariatric surgery comprehensive care and would note the practice in thier Aetna files - as a center of excellence -being that nutritional counseling, monthly support groups, and post-surgery rehabilitation (fitness) was offered. At the practice's suggestion i enrolled in the obesityhelp.com online support group - and am amazed how little post-surgery counseling is offered by other bariatric centers. I have nearly no questions for the support group because Dr. Ewing's staff have provided me all of the info, tools, and support needed -- they are amazing! And Dr. Ewing is an experienced and stellar surgeon -- not to mention that he is really nice, considerate, compassionate, and patient.

Dr. Schmidt was patient as I decided which surgery was right for me. His staff (Louisa) was more than patient as I went through many changes and insurance issues. My surgery was quick and without issue. At 2 weeks out I have lost 15 lbs. The post surgery seminar was the most informative process with a nurse who went through the procedure. The tips and expectations were invaluable. Meeting other surgery patients helped to not feel alone. I don't know what other surgeons due post operative but my experience with Dr. Schmidt and his staff has made all the difference in a successful surgical process.

Dr Schmidt put me at ease. The morning of my surgery was a blizzard. I really wanted to have it and further did not want to dig out only to go to the hospital and be canceled. I called Dr Schmidt at 4am...yes 4 am and he was gracious, understanding, and kind. He offered to come in and do it. Although, I never did make it that day, I had the surgery and have lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks. Gifted surgeon and a great guy!
