Major weight loss in the obese may directly improve LV mass, function
Significant weight loss in severely obese people, on its own, seemed to improve cardiac hypertrophy and diastolic function and reduce aortic stiffness over one year, in a study that used magnetic resonance (MR) imaging to track changes in fat mass and ventricular volumes, mass, and relaxation [1].
