America's Childhood Obesity Conundrum

The soaring levels of childhood obesity in American children have caused many furrowed brows among health officials, who are warning of a health crisis among children. A report from the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation found that childhood obesity numbers have increased alarmingly among some states.

Titled "F as in Fat: How Obesity Policies Are Failing in America 2009," the report said the percentage of obese or overweight children is at or above 30 percent in 30 states. The report revealed Mississippi had the highest rate of obese and overweight children at 44.4 percent. Arkansas at 37.5 percent; and Georgia at 37.3 percent are at number 2 and 3 on the child obesity scale.  Click here for full article.
