Question:
What could be the cause of pain that is under my left breast?
For the last 2 days I have had a stabbing pain under my left breast. It radiates to the center of my back. Before my surgery I did have a gallbladder ultrasound. My Dr did not remove my gallbladder and I was wondering what the symptons were of a gallbladder attack? — susan V. (posted on August 24, 2001)

I am not going to tellyou that it is NOT a gall bladder problem, but I
wanted to let you know that your gall bladder is on your right side. I hope
you get some relief/answers soon. This sounds miserable. Good luck.

I have not experienced this pain, but I have seen many posts about it.
Most people complain of gas under their left ribs. Good Luck!

I find that I feel my pouch in that same spot. If I've put liquids on top
of food or early post op if I just drank too much water, I'd get a pain
there. It lasted a couple of days once. It did go away though. Have you
been sipping or gulping? Also, check the temperature of your water. If
it's too cold, it can irritate your pouch. I recommend slowly sipping some
warm tea. However, if it continues, you definitely should talk to your
surgeon.

DURING SURGERY THEY SPREAD YOUR RIBS. I HAD THAT PAIN ALSO LEFT RIB AND IT
RADIATED TO MY BACK. I WENT TO MY CHIROPRACTOR AND SHE ADJUSTS ME ONCE A
WEEK. AND ITS GONE AWAY. SOMETIMES I FEEL A LITTLE PRESURE THERE. BUT IT
GOES AWAY WITH AN ADJUSTMENT. ALSO AS YOU LOSE OR GAIN WEIGHT YOUR BONES
SHIFT.

ANY chest pain should be reported to your doctor. It could be a lot of
things, some not a big deal, and some a very big deal. Call now.
