Question:
Has anyone had a problem with dark circles under eyes after surgery?
I am 2 months post-op and have dark circles under my eyes that even with makeup are beginning to show. I was wondering if this could be due to the smaller amount of food and nutrients that I am taking in now. I am getting more than my daily required intake of protein and take my vitamins, calcium and zinc religiously. I have been trying to eat from all the food groups as well. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do and does anyone know of any creme or something similar to take this away or fade it? Any help would be appreciated. — Jodie R. Hi Jodie, looks like we are in the same boat
with only one oar! I thought it was only me and didn't
realize this could be from the surgery. I am also 2 months
post op and just noticed dark areas under my eyes also. so
I hope someone out there has an answer. I read just under my
post about Iron! maybe thats it, but if we are both taken of
daily vitamins it makes me wonder! Take care Ann

Have your doctor check you for anemia...my sister has always been anemic
and suffers with terrible dark circles under her eyes.

Hi Jodie, I don't have a medical solution for your dark circles. But I do
have a cosmetic solution. I have battled dark circles since I was pre-teen
, mine are heriditary. The only thig that I have found that will completely
cover is Merle Norman cover up (yellow tone

get the coverage cover. And remember always pat in the product, never rub.

Problem with dark circles under eyes after surgery?
Yep!! Sure do.. Small price to pay along with other things like, falling
hair and broken thermostat (chilling) I can handle all the above though,
it was all worth it.. check out my pre-op and post-op pics on my

What about trying some of those products you can buy at the
store? ( under the eye treatment for dark circles?) You
still might want to check up with your doctor to see what
he or she suggests. Good luck to you! Take-care!!

I have extreme dark circles and Merle Norman, Mary Kay , nothing hides it.
I wear glasses that help conceal but it is still noticeable to people that
know me. Someone told me to go to Penny's and get that makeup concealer
that people with scars and burns have. Just ask the counter girl.

The makeup that is used for covering scars is DermaBlend. It is heavy-duty
concealer and should cover the dark circles. Unfortunately, it has a sort
of mask-like feel.

Are you drinking your required fluid, with adequate sodium? Dehydration
temporarily thins the skin, so in areas where it is naturally VERY
thin--such as under the eye--the venous (bluer) blood shows through,
creating bluish-grey dark circles. While you're being checked for anemia
(are you pale and tired and bruising easily, too? or just the circles?),
beef up your fluid intake and see what happens.---Jesse

Great answer Jesse! I have always had circle under my eyes (must be my
delicate skin...), and I have noticed since I've increased my water intake
that they are fading and my skin is starting to glow. Also, as I lose
weight in my face, I'm getting less cheeky, so the circles are less
noticeable. I still use concealer(old habits are hard to break), but I
need to remember to PAT it on rather than RUB it in...application technique
is important, ladies! To the original poster: I always hated the circles
under my eyes, but guess what? Nobody notices them but me...ah, we truly
are our own worst critics.
