Question:
Has anyone experienced upper leg numbness after surgery?
I had surgery on December 1st and since than I have numbness on the right side of my upper thigh. From time to time I get a throbbing feeling in that area almost as if the feeling is trying to come back and than the throbbing goes away. I asked my surgeon and he said that this is normal and the feeling should come back. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this as I am getting a little paranoid that something is wrong. Any input would be greatly appreciated. — Jodie R. (posted on December 27, 1999)

Just a word of caution for those of you with growing leg pain post op... I
developed blood clots in my left thigh 10 days after surgery. After lots
of phone calls to the hospital and trying to reach my doctor I ended up in
the ER late at nite with an embolism because no one thought it was a
problem until it nearly killed me. Make sure you check it out with your
doctor if you have persistant pain in your legs or any where.

SOunds like a disk problem. I ad a similar problem before surgery. Turns

cure it. Good Luck

I am now 6 days post op and 2 days ago I started experiencing numbness in
my legs as well. But I received a total of 4 to 5 shots during my stay in
the hosptial. It was pain killers. Hopefully it will go away.
