Question:
Has anyone had the Lap Band surgery? Surgeon and Insurance?

When I decided to have the weight loss surgery, I decided to go with the Lap Band. Is this type of procedure something not many surgeons will do? and how about insurance coverage...I have BC/BS Traditional (GM) Has anyone with this type of insurance had the Lap Band surgery covered?    — blank first name B. I had the lap-band surgery 3 1/2 months ago and just love it (and my new figure -58lbs). I have BC/BS Federal insurance. Their policy is to not pre-approve anything, but say they will cover WLS if it is medically necessary. They covered everything except my $100 co-pay.
