My cholestral is sky high...
hello im 7 months post op and eating alot of protien in my foods..could this be making my cholestral sky high i had lab work done and my doctor is very concerned im at 245 could this be from all the protien i consume since we have to have so much in our diet..is anyone else post op have high cholestral??? what can i do to lower it???? — [Deactivated Member] (posted on April 15, 2002)

What procedure did you have? VBG? AGB? If you are RNY or BPD, I am very
surprised that your chol. would be so high, since we malabsorb some
fats/oils. Is your staple line intact? Also, do you use protein supps or
just eat food to try to get protein?

Before the surgery my total cholestral was 139!! now 3months latter its
199. Crazy?-- Good Luck

mine dropped from 275 pre op to 148 today. Are you eating low fat protein
and getting in lots of exercise?
