My cholestral is sky high...

hello im 7 months post op and eating alot of protien in my foods..could this be making my cholestral sky high i had lab work done and my doctor is very concerned im at 245 could this be from all the protien i consume since we have to have so much in our diet..is anyone else post op have high cholestral??? what can i do to lower it????
