Question:
New Insurance on October 1st.... possible denial for pre-existing condition?

I'm going to be on my husbands insurance- Independant Health as of October 1st..is it possible that they could deny me the surgery b/c I've been planning it out (doctors visits, etc>>)before being accepted under their carrier? Hello Dana, I live in Fl. Here is what happenned to me. My husbands insur, changed right in the middle of my process also. I already had a date for surgery!Sept 14, 01. It is to changed Oct. 1 also. I was told that if pre-existing, (already in the works) by law they have to cover it. A new law I think, but check with your laws in your state. It should work out fine, as long as you did not have a laps(sp)in coverage in the past 18 mon. double check! good luck.
