Question:
Stomach pain at 5 1/2 months post op
Today I have had what feels like an awful gnawing sensation in my stomach (up in the upper region of my torso, where I believe my "new" stomach pain would be located). If I didn't know better, I'd say that it's a "knot" due to stress, but I'm not stressed out. If this persists, I'll definitely be calling my doctor but thought I might touch base with you guys to see if anyone has had similar pain. I have not had any complications and have been pain free for months. The only thing that I think it might be is that because of work requirements, I haven't been drinking as much today and wonder if dehydration might cause this sensation (?). I'm drinking water as I type, hoping that if this is the case, I'll alleviate it by hydrating! Thanks. — Karen K. (posted on March 14, 2003)

Hi Michelle, Just out of curiousity, why is the taste of water relevant? I
have seen your answer many times on this when someone thinks they have an
ulcer or something and MUST know......LOL. Thanks, vitalady, for all you do
to help us. If it weren't for you and your advice, I might have gained all
my weight back when I had SLD. Michelle was my main source of
encouragement. Michelle, you da woman!!! We love you!

Marilyn, to answer your post about when Michelle asks how water tastes- it
refers to ulcers. (Just in case she can't get to this) I'm not an expert,
but did have a marginal ulcer, and when you have one, usually water tastes
metallic for some reason, so this is a good sign. Karen- I'm glad you're
getting this checked out. It is always better to ask and be safe than
sorry! I hope you feel better- goodluck to you!
