Question:
Are there any support groups in the Morris County, NJ area?

I live in Morris County, NJ and am scheduled to have surgery next month (2/21). I want to do everything in my power to be successful at this, and I would love to find a support group to join in my area. I'd be willing to travel to surrounding counties. congratulations, on your upcoming surgery. I am 10 weeks post-op and go to two support group meetings in NJ. The first is in Scotch Plains and it is affiliated with UMDNJ that one meets the first tuesday of the month. the other i go to is at Hackensack University Hospital and that meets the 2nd and 4th fridays of the month. Hi, we haev the same surgeon! McLean performed my surgery 8 months ago and I have since lost 100lbs! I am assuming things aren't the same as when it was last year. He used to be affiliated with the Obesity Center and 4 other surgeons, I know he still is with Dr. Ward. Also, we had to go to one meeting at Morristown Hospital b4 any doc would even see us for a consultation. The meetings were the 2nd Tues of every month, but the head RN in charge has since left, so there may not be meetings anymore. I'd call the hosp. and ask.
