Question:
Is too much possible?
I'm basically at the point of waiting on my insurance company to approve me and I was wondering about weightlifting. I was hoping that after losing weight I could put on muscle and have a nice body. Is it possible to gain good muscle tone and definition since your body doesnt absorb nutrients/protiens the way that it should? I also dont want to lose too much weight and have a problem there from weight lifting. Also, will I ever be able to compete in sports? Football for example? Any help will be appreciated. — Clay T. I am 6 days post op and have taken to lifting very low weights with very
high reps because I only want to loose body fat and not muscle mass.
Anyway I think that key after surgery will be move, gets those proteins in
and after 6 weeks I think that it says you can do moderate weight lifting.
I am assuming you are a man so you could probably do more. Just make sure
in the initial stages that you walk and I am using small weight dumbbells
in my chair and doing all kinds of arm exercises to make sure that I am
burning fat not muscle.
Good luck!

DEFINETELY POSSIBLE. Last months support group meeting had a lady show off
her muscles/ Her surgery was about 1.5 years ago. She looks awesome
although I hope she doesnt take it to extremes...
