Question:
I've had 2 people tell me exclusion is gone

Hello everyone. I've had 2 people tell me that Anthem bc/bs blue preffered primary did away with there 18 month exclusion of dr supv weightloss efforts for pre auth. Does anyone know anything about it? I have searched high and low and can't find anything hard copy ust incase I'm denied. I even have a copy of the contract from my employer and it still st's the exclusion. Any help will be greatly appreciated.    — miccimouse (posted on August 20, 2002)

That is the same insurance that I have and I was never asked to show proof of supervised diets. I was even told that a psych consult was not required but my surgeon required one anyway. I was approved for gastric bypass within a week after my surgeon sent my letter of medical necessity. Good luck!

hello= i have bc/bs fl ppo blue choice - and i wasnt required to show proof of weight loss attempts, i was approved within 1 week...good luck
