Question:
I have s few bumps on my breasts. They are under them and a few on the sides.
I also have a few of these bumps im my armpit area and a couple on my stomach. They look like little pimples, but at my last gyno appt. my Dr. said they are tiny staff infections and not to worry about them. Will these postpone surgery and if so how do I get rid of them? Sorry this is gross but I am wondering if I am the only one to have these? Any information on them would be great! Thanks, Cassy =) — Cassy H. (posted on May 14, 2002)

Cassy,
I am not a doctor but staff infection is contagious. I am surprised your
doctor didn't give you and antibiotic. If I were you gets some meds before
having surgery. Staff is nothing to play with.

Are they bumps under the skin or little pieces of skin? I have several
under my breasts and a couple in my armpit, but I think that they are
called 'skin tags'. Not sure how to make them go away, but I don't think
that they are dangerous.

Staff infection is VERY serious and nothing to ignore (yet treatable (with
antibiotics cream on site or pills). It can SPEAD VERY easely to your
incision site. Please seek treament from dermatologist PRIOR to surgery.
Good Luck.

This is mostly from heat and moisture. I use the cool setting on my hair
dryer on skin folds(armpits, under breasts, belly fold, pubic area, and
even my toes). It keeps the inflammation and infection down. I don't know
if this is really a staph infection; although it can certainly become one.
I have had mine looked at before and they just said it was a heat rash.
They are only under my breasts, raised bumps, some look like they are a
pimple with a head, and are painful. The other skin folds just get red and
irritated which I have been told is yeast growth (from dark, warm and moist
areas).
