Question:
anyone in pittsburgh area having trouble with upmc insurance authorization?

i was told they were very quick and almost always approved authorization with no hassle, but they seem to have set new guidelines. They have asked me for additional weight loss history info (above and beyond my original copies), now they can't seem to locate what has been faxed over. they verified they recieved the same fax that is missing last thursday.... is anyone else having a problem with them? I didn't have any problems getting approved. It took 2 weeks. I would keep on them. Call everyday. Maybe fax the info yourself, if you are having the doctor's office do it. I'm not with Dr. Schauer, I'm with Dr. Courcoulas. One thing I can tell you about her office, you have to call otherwise, you get lost in the shuffle. Maybe if you have your PCP get involved, send medical info or letter of need... Good Luck. Let me know what happens...
