Question:
Has anyone used Sierra Choices Health Plan of NV for coverage of their surgery?

I have been in contact with one man who used this insurance company and had his surgery. I called the insurance company and was told there is an exclusion which states that they will not cover "Gastric Ballon" or "Any Weight Loss Reduction Surgery due to Morbid Obesity" any ideas?    — Patricia R. Patricia, I also have HPN/Sierra Choice, and they told me that it would have to be "medically necessary," but they wouldn't define "medically necessary" when I asked. Just some mumbo-jumbo about it going before a medical review board. From what I heard, it's next to impossible to fight the exclusion, but I'm going to try. Steph

sierra Choice/HPN have changed. I know Dr. Fisher and Dr. Atkinson are now providers for that insurance company. You might wanna give them a try. www.bandandbypass.com
