Question:
Approximately how long will the hair loss go on?
Approximately how long will the hair loss go on.. I'm two months post-op and have noticed some thinning in last few weeks and I had thick long hair. I get my 65-70 grams of protein in daily so that's not a problem. That's about all I have room for is the protein. How soon does it start growing back in? — Victoria B. (posted on February 8, 2000)

Hi Vicki: I'm 6 1/2 months post-op, and I noticed a slight increase in
hair loss at about 2 1/2 months. I thought 'no big deal, this isn't so
bad!' but now....boy! When I comb my hair (which is very thick) after my
shower the comb is filled! The hair loss got this drastic at about 5 1/2
months. I get all my protein, too, and take biotin daily along with a host
of other vitamins and supplements. I'm hoping this will end soon! So, I
guess it's like everything else with wls, everyone is different. I'd still
rather have less hair than the 94 pounds I've lost. Hope you're feeling
great! Jaye Carl, open proximal RNY 7-29-99, 94 pounds gone forever!

Hello, I am just alittle over 5 months and I am still losing
alot of hair. My protein levels are good and all blood tests are fine.
I am getting very concerned myself. I believe that I have lost about
40-50% of my hair. Thank God I have alot of hair. I have recently started
taking
biotin I hear that it can help, time will tell. tina frey
