Question:
11 days post-op and incisions aren't healing...

Anyone else experience their wounds not healing after staple stiches removed? I contacted my Dr. and he said to continue to rinse with peroxide and keep bandaged. Should it get worse I will have to go in. Just wondering if this will make my scars even uglier or worse?    — Amy E. (posted on November 3, 2003)

I had no sutures or staples, just steri-strips holding me altogether. Well anyway, those of course fell off within a week of surgery and my incision at my bellybutton just popped open one day. My surgeon says the same thing..just peroxide and keep it covered (hard to do when its your belly button). Seems to be working. Just make sure you watch for signs of infection. Lap RNY 09/25/03
