Question:
can anyone tell me what the qualifications are for having a Tummy tuck vs Panniculect

I see so many post ops saying they are having a tummy tuck, but my Plastic surgeon says I was approved for a panniculectomy (circum) I have a pre-op visit with him on Wednesday coming, so if I need to ask him to request for an Abdominalpsy I will. I have had back pain for a few years now and since my 85 lbs weightloss I have been having infections under my panni and breast. Which causes me not to be able to walk or exercise properly. But i think my surgeon just asked for a Panniculetomy to get rid of the excess skin on the bottom of stomach not the top. But he will tighten my muscles he says...    — Maria L. The only way to find out is to call your insurance company, since some only cover Panni's. Ask them if abdominoplasty's are covered and what steps you need to follow to get an approval. It also helps to submit pictures of your "apron" as well as any infected areas of skin.
