Question:
What do you eat in a typical day if you have had VBG?
Hi I had a VBG on Feb 11,2002. I would like to talk to people who have had a vbg. Also a few questions. How much can you guys eat? Like a Lean Cuisine dinner(how much of it). What about drinking after you eat, how long do you wait before you drink? Can you give me examples of a typical meal....Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know everyone is different but i don't want to over do it. Thank you!!!! Jasmine — Jasmine L. (posted on February 27, 2002)

My diet is pretty boring. Either have cottage cheese, about 2oz, or half
an egg for breakfast. Lunch is usually a piece of cheese or luncheon meat.
Dinner is an ounce of meat and a starch. I don't drink within an hour of
eating, before or after.
As for the Lean Cuisine, I could probably make 3 meals off of one entree.
I eat LOTS of leftovers these days!

Hi Jasmine! I had an open VBG 12/11/01. My meals are pretty boring but food
no longer seems to be my primary focus in life (thank goodness). For
breakfast I will eat one of the following: a protein bar, cottage cheese,
yogurt, poached egg on a slice of Pepperidge Farm very thin wheat bread
(toasted first), Cheerios with some milk. For lunch and supper: tuna fish
mixed with a little mayo so it's not so dry, egg drop soup, fat free
refried beans with a little cheese sprinkled on top, two-three small slices
of deli turkey with a piece of string cheese, Underwood white meat chicken
spread (a can is two meals for me), shredded lettuce with a piece of deli
turkey and some shredded cheese on top, Hormel turkey chili (in cans, one
can is several meals). I will usually eat a couple of saltine crackers if I
have tuna or chicken. I drink at least one protein drink a day (mixed with
Crystal light and either 1/2 a frozen banana or some frozen sliced peaches
and blended really well). I chew everything to smithereens before I swallow
it and have never once vomited or gotten anything stuck. That's about it!
As you can see I'm not really getting much in to me in the way of
vegetables. March 11 will be three months for me and I plan to start adding
some green beans, etc. I always weigh my meals and never eat more than 3
ozs. of anything. I drink decaf tea with Splenda, Crystal light, and
water,.period. I am down 45 pounds and have gotten rid of 40.5 inches of
fat. I think eventually I will try some lean cuisines or Weight Watchers
meals but not yet. Hope this helps you and good luck!
