Question:
finding one at this weight while being self employed
Does any one know of an insurance co. that will just cover me at this time for general health purposes? In the future may think of surgery, but at 400 lbs and 6'4" and as my wife says "built like your favorite defensive line man" I can not find an insurance co. that will cover me at a reasonable rate. My health is fine as a OTR driver I have to take a DOT physical every 2 years. My father is 6'6" and a large man, my "little" brother is 6'7" and is about 335lbs and in the army. — [Anonymous] (posted on January 13, 2002)

You might try your local chamber of commerce. They get group rates for
small companies and individuals in business.

hi, hope this helps, my husband is an OTR driver, and although he is a
company driver his insurence was just awful! So, once the kids were old
enough, I got a job that had good benifits, and the insurence had to take
hubby, no matter what! Its thru the public school.....BTW, I had a friend
who had blue cross blue shield. she said that they are terrible, about
covering anything that they can try to claim as pre-exsisiting, but have
not had personal exsperience with them, and have seen many BCBS listed as
carreirs for wls patients. hope i was of some good,,,Good luck to you.
