Question:
Has anyone gotten down to two weeks pre-op, then changed docs
Just two weeks pre-op and first I find out a co-worker using the same doc dies, then in scaning the site I learn that the doc will soon stop accepting all insurance. I jumped up and called another doc; question is do I have to start all over, I surely hope not, really in the dumps about having to start the waiting game all over again. Family Help! I switched doctors a few weeks before I was to have surgery. I wasn't
comfortable with him for various reasons and decided I wanted to go with
someone else. As far as the lab work, etc - yes, I did have to start over
- but it wasn't bad. The good thing is my insurance (Blue Cross PPO)
re-approved it without thought because I still met the same criteria.
My surgery was only a month later and to me that was worth it. In the long
run a few extra weeks aren't going to matter. Your health and well being
will. =)

My surgeon cancelled on me with less than 3 weeks to go. At first I didn't
know why-yes he had an excuse but it didn't make sense. However, my new
surgeon and i figured that my surgery was really just too big for him to
handle and he didn't know how to get out of it. I'm so glad he did. I found
a new surgeon immediately and got an appt. rather quickly too(I was lucky).
I had all my testing done and they used those and I just needed to see
their Psych. and nutritionist which I did. I had surgery and I'm glad with
how things worked out. It's not an issue to change, especially if you're
not comfortable for whatever reason. This Dr. is not the only one out
there!Best of luck to you
