Teresa, I'm six months out and haven't experienced this but it does sound to me as if you need to call your doctor. It doesn't sound "normal" to me. I've been having a very quick sharp pain on the left side of my rib cage lately but I can't tie it to eating or anything else so I'm sort of waitingit out but I will not wait long. If it continues, I'll be on the phone to my doc. As always, don't mess around with pain.............it isn't normal and could indicate something serious. I'd start keeping a record of what I ate and when the pain occurred and how long it lasted then, when I had some kind of pattern, I'd call. Better safe than sorry. If it's been going on for a few weeks, you might not even want to wait but just go ahead and call now.

Well, someone on the March 04 board just had a bad bout of pancreatitis which sounds similar. Not saying it is, but it is definitely worth checking with your doctor on!

well i still have my gallbladder, but have had problems with it for years. i wish they would have taken it when they did my surgery but it looked too good. i had the same problem. sharp pain. i posted the question on this site and so many people shared in the same pain but had no answers. it did go away for me eventually. but, in august, i was in the hospital three days because i had horrible pain i couldnt stand. they told me it was either my gallbladder or pancreas. i had no stones, so they were guessing pancreas. when you have this pain, try to get blood work done. it will show if it is your pancreas.
