Question:
Insurance got paperwork 6 weeks ago, found out today they still didn't look at it yet
The same gal I had spoke to all this time, about twice weekly turns out to NOT be the person I needed to be speaking with. She happened to not disclose that little bit of info. What's more, is that she didn't forward on a message to the correct person. So there is no record of my many previous phone calls. I finally got to speak with the right department, who gave me the nurse's extention # and name who will be handling my case. She did tell me however that my file is under a huge stack of other files, claims. It might take a very long time. But she will try to put mine on top so they can take their first look at it, since I called. It has taken 6 weeks to get to this point. Had the first gal who I have spoken to thus far, left messages or told me who to speak to in the first place, I would've probably had an answer by now. SO now what do I do? I have left a message for the person who is handling my case. She hasn't called back yet. Do I call her every day? Twice a day? I'd hate to badger someone, but they kept me waiting for 6 weeks, with nothing to show for it. What would you do? I have been very polite thus far and hope I continue to be, but this has been VERY frustrating that this has been for nothing. Thanks everyone----- Annie — Annie R. (posted on June 20, 2001)

You know what they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. It's not your
fault that it's taking this long, it's their screw up. I would call every
other day and make the case worker aware of the fact that you have been
talking with so and so for six weeks. Eventually, she'll deal with it just
because she is sick of hearing from you or to get you to stop calling.
Hang in there.

I hope that you wrote down the name of the person/people that you spoke
with. I would let the person in charge know. Maybe that will help get to
the top of the pile. Good luck!

I would check the policy and procedures manual with your ins. Is there a
process or at least a guideline they are required to follow..let's say
"claims/request are to be processed within 30 days"?. I would
also speak with the supervisor's supervisor, develop a POSITIVE repoire
with them. Start out by allowing them to think they are the only ones who
can "rescue" you, but if nothing then, sock it to em!
