Question:
1 week postop TT, what should pain level be?
I am one week post-op TT and have not seen a decrease in my pain level. When did you start to feel the pain ease. My inceasion line is hard and skin pulled tight but I can walk almost straight, am I aggrevating the increasion by not walking stupped? — bbjnay (posted on April 25, 2004)

I had a tt/mr/br and also a buttlift and revisions over a year ago, but i
can remember at a2 week post-op I was still pretty achy,, feeling,, try to
rest and get plenty of fluids,, it will get better,, also after you heal
some more, you will start to feel the twinges, it's the nerves reattaching
themselves back to your muscle wall.. it drove me nutts when they started,
casue I would get the twinges in my tummy and my butt at the same time:)
it's kind of like a muscle spasm, but not anywhere near as painful..

After one week, I was still in much pain. Now I am at 18 weeks after
complete abdominoplasty and belt lipectomy. Still twinges when I sneeze and
at times feels very tight. Walk as much as you can, it is good for you.
Good luck, it is worth all the pain and effort. Wait until the sizes drop
and you go into the store and buy stuff in sizes you would never think you
can fit into. Then you will understand..LOL

with my TT
the pain level was much higher and lasted longer then WLS
hang in there
it is worth it
do not stretch out your tummy
for almost 18 months it is like wearing the tightest girdle you could pull
on
God what a great feeling this was or is
I am a little over 2 yrs out and the tight girdle is becoming loser
I miss that feeling
I had gotten so use to it helping to control my eating
when I ate too much my tummy would pouch and I felt so bloated ...stopped
me from over eating
good luck
this is the crowning touch
this is what we need to go into debt for after WLS
you can not lose over 100 pounds and not have saggy skin
so start saving those bucks
it is worth every penny

I had my tt and bl on 3/15/04. The first week was the worst on pain. As the
second week began I noticed the pain eased with each day.I'm sure the pain
will ease up in no time for ya. Just follow the doctors instructions and
you'll do fine. Good luck with your new adventure in life.

I tell my patients they'll hate me and wish they hadn't done it the first
week. Most folks are pretty sore, in other words. Gets a lot better 2-3rd
week.

I really had very little pain with the tt. Probably one of the easiest
surgeries I had. My stomach is very tight but I was able to stand up
straight pretty much from day 1. Stay ahead of your pain medication. Take
them BEFORE you need them and that might help.
