Question:
New Post-ops- all over body soreness?
I am a new post-op, had surgery May 31. I walk around the house every 2 hours to keep moving, and usually will take my dog for a small walk, maybe 5-10 minutes, nothing big. but i feel soreness alot all over my body, especially in my thighs, arms and shins, more in the fatty areas. Has anyone else experienced this newly post-op? I'm really not over-exerting myself, just wondering what it could be, or if it could be from lying in bed and sitting. Thanks. — Lezlie Y. Hi..I had the same soreness after surgery, and I asked my doctor about it.
He said that it was mostly like me overcompensating when I was getting up
and down from bed or a chair. My incisions were tender, so I was using my
arms and legs more to lift myself rather than my stomach muscles. The
soreness went away after about two and a half weeks. I had alot of lower
back pain, too, from sitting.

You didn't put what surgery you had, but if it was a lap. procedure gas
could be to blame. When you have a lap. surgery, the doctor fills you up
with a type of gas so he can have room to work. After surgery, a small
amount of that gas stays in your body. It can cause some soreness in your
body. Not to mention that your body just went through a major surgery and
that doesn't usually feel too good. Hope you feel better soon.
