Question:
Did/Does anyone have BC Prudent Buyer PPO?

I was wondering if anyond has/had BC Prudent Buyer PPO, and if so how were they. Did they approve WLS, how long, etc. Any infor would be appreciated. I live in California and my Doctor is Dr. Ho in Fresno.    — Gail M. (posted on March 29, 2001)

Hi Gail. I have Blue Cross Prudent Buyer and was approved in 2 days. I'm in Sacramento, CA and had my Lap RNY 6 weeks ago. My sister and brother-in-law had their surgery with Dr. Ho in November and they have had great success with their surgeries. They loved her! Good luck to you! Terri

I HAD BC PPO. I HAD MY SURGERY IN AUGUST. THEY PAID 70% OF ALL EXCEPT SURGEON'S FEE. I HAD TO PAY CASH UP FRONT FOR THIS BECAUSE THEIR "NEGOTIATED FEE" WITH THE SURGEON WAS UNACCEPTABLE TO HIM. ONCE I SENT ALL THE PAPERWORK IN, INCLUDING A HISTORY OF MY WEIGHT LOSS "TRIALS" IT WAS APPROVED WITHIN THE WEEK.

I have Blue Cross PPO and they approved me, but they did say that it depends on the policy that your company has with them...benfits and such.
