Question:
Is Dr. Donald McConnell, at OHSU, available?

I have received pre-authorization to see Dr. Kenneth Welker but he is on sabbatical and not accepting any new patients. I'd like to see if Dr. Donald McConnell, also at OHSU, is available for new patients. Does anyone know?    — Jenifer S. (posted on February 3, 2001)

Yes I had an appointment set with him for June 22, 2001 It takes months to get but I have now changed to Dr Champion in Georgia because Dr Mcconnel does not to lap's and I am also self-pay and its about 7 to 8k cheaper. Good Luck. I do hear Dr McConnell is a good surgeon

I don't know about Dr. McConnell, but there is a DS surgeon who is new to Portland is she is getting wonderful word-of-mouth. Her name is Dr. Emma Patterson, and she trained with Dr. Gagner at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. She does the BPD/DS laparoscopically.
