Question:
Is Novasal safe for WLS patients
Has anyone been prescribed Novasal? I am 10 weeks post op and having a lot of back pain. It is caused from arthritis. Before my surgery I took Celebrex which took care of the pain....but had to stop prior to surgery and was told I could not take it. My regular doctor has prescribed Novasal and said it was safe for the stomach. I asked my surgeon about the drug and he said he wasn't familiar with it. When I read the precautions for this drug online, it seems that it might be a problem for our pouches. Has anyone else used this drug and if so any problems? — Danny L. (posted on March 1, 2005)

I searched for this medication and can't find any info for you. The site
that I use is

I do know that many people find relief with MSM for arthritis relief. It
is a useable form of Sulfer that relieves pain and helps with stiff ness
while allowing more flexible cells to form. I use the Total Recovery from
IDS it is L-Glutamine with MSM and does work well. My mom who is not a WLS
patient but has suffered from arthritis for years asked her PCP about using
it and he strongly encouraged her to use it too.
Hugs to you from your Okie friend,
