Question:
Ins says not a covered benefit, is this the same as denial???
My surgury was scheduled for Mon.. then dr calls says ins called to say not covered benefit...call ins company speak w/a few different ppl Case is not marked denied(that I meet criteria but not cov bene)... So in order for my dr's to appeal it needs to be denied... When speaking w/dif ppl form ins 3 told me to appeal that they have approved it b4 and to appeal...and another lady said that Blue choice covers it but that eds doesn't ... I have BCBS Blue choice EDS ......*And I have spoken w/ppl at my company htat have had this done... *same ins....ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASEE!!!! Yes you were denied. Not a covered benefit means they are denying
coverage of the surgery. Are you sure that the people at your copany that
had the surgery got it paid under this plan or maybe was it their spouce's
plan? Did your company change plans this year? Your company could also
have made the decision to stop covering it. I assume they are sending you
a letter, so you will need to see exactly what it says. I am not familiar
with any BCBS plans called EDS, so that leads me to believe it is
customized to what your employer wanted.
